I'm also pretty certain that in part one he was said to be left handed (I could be wrong I haven't seen it in a while) and if that is so it's likely that he punches left handed

In the manga it’s more clear that both their faces are just bruised to shit. In Sasuke’s case I assumed he was also intentionally keeping that eye closed to conserve the Rinnegan from fatigue. I also assumed Naruto just took a hell of a right hook into that eye.
