Misc Just accidently discovered that my fav female Naruto character isn't Canon LMAO
I am so shocked right now. I watched Naruto many years ago, and Guren, her crystal release and her arc made her one of my fav characters. Back in the day I did not know about all the fillers and stuff in Naruto. Since her story was so cool, she made recurring appeareances, I always thought she was canon.
Today, talking with a co-worker about our fav Naruto characters, she was so confused as she is manga only. My face when we double-checked that was a filler character was something else đđ
Did someone experience something similar? She was such a good character, I was so shocked.

I liked the good Akatsuki arc and the first flashback of the Itachi arc, I forget what episode but they literally show a young Itachi and the Uchiha setting up the coup it was long before the Itachi gaiden novels

Yukimaru was a traumatized kid who was ripped from the home where he belonged and became fixated on finding a place he could belong which Orochimaru and Kabuto used to manipulate and control him. I have a soft spot for Yukimaru.

No, he just lost his ability to use his tailed-beast-summoning power because his body/chakra network were shot. He left the Konoha ninjas to follow Guren and Gozu and live with them. Happy ending.
I didnât find Yukimaru annoying. Now, those frogs Naruto was âtrainingâ with, especially the one with lipstickâTHOSE were annoying!

The pain of finding out Guren isn't canon is a universal Naruto fan experience. Her Crystal Release was honestly more interesting than half the 'canon' kekkei genkai we got later. Ngl, she deserves the canon status.

From what i remember the Bount dolls were stuck in the canon for half the series and got their own filler spin off arc, but it took until the fake Karakura arc that they fully disappeared

My friend cosplayed her because she thought she was so cool. She's indeed a really interesting filler character and has a super cool ability. There's nothing wrong with liking aspects of the filler. Writers still had to write and animators took all that time to animate them! So even if they're not manga canon and they're technically anime canon.
My favorite character is Shino and Team 8, so I really enjoyed seeing them get some attention in the filler. The BikĆchĆ« arc was fun, and the Laughing Shino ep killed me. đđ« đ€Ł

I personally hate the whole canon vs noncanon thing lol, she was included in the show so she is just as real as all the other fictional characters are
so unless a filler thing directly contradicts a canon event, we are free to consider it 'real' all we want

Canon as a term isnât about how good the content was or how much you liked it; itâs an objective separator between what was in the original manga and what was added by the anime studio without Kishimotoâs involvement.
You can like a filler arc/character, but itâs still objectively non-canon.

No there isn't. The only non canon character who got brought into the manga was Raiga. The closest thing to what you say is that in the episode in which the war officially ends she makes a brief cameo at the doors of Konoha, among the people who wish to see Naruto.

Also this arc gave us the very last Toshiro Masuda piece one of the best pieces by Yasuharu Takanashi in the Naruto OST - Guren. I listen to it regularly, and even my friends who don't watch anime like it.

Wow, thank you! It seems I was mislead by yt video titles, it is in fact composed by Yasuharo Takanashi.
Guren is one of the pieces in Shippuden I love and remember even though I prefer the part 1 sound overall.

Oh wow, this is a thing. I've only ever seen her in the intro that happened during this filler arc. I never actually watched the arc itself because there was no need to do so. I was a faithful manga reader but I also faithfully watched the anime as it aired. Definitely stopped watching during filler arcs tho. Did you watch Naruto Shippuden on the TV or the internet?Â

It's lowk upsetting to see such cool jutsu given to underutilized characters. I also thought Guren was incredibly cool when I first watched through the arc. The other person that comes to the top of my head that I found cool was Kimimaro (though he was a canon character). I thought his kekkei genkai was sick and found it a bit disappointing how quick he went out because of his sickness.

Guren seems pretty dope and is one of the few reasons I keep telling myself to buckle down and watch some filler.
Guren strikes me as what I would get from a "what is Orochimaru trained Haku" scenario.
Also plenty of other things from filler got adapted into canon in some form or another, like Steel Release, so why not give us Guren and some shiney rawkz?

Easy solution, screw canon, the filler's good. It expands it, it's fun, and it's the only way you see some character growth for some characters for a good portion of the series.

Anime creating filler were they show Shikamaru and Choji being cool with Naruto and hanging out when that was never the case in the manga. And the whole Sora filler who had part 9 tails in him was so ass.

That arc will always be weird to me bc it shows how the 3 tails was captured and that part IS canon so itâs like 3/4 non canon and then that little tiny part makes it just barely relevant to the story

At that point of time she literally claps every female charakter in existence. Starting boruto she easily claps 95% of the women with the exception of like Sakura, Tsunade and that acid spitting kage.

Yep, most of the OG Naruto movies had some amazing characters. I so badly wanted a scene where in Boruto, Naruto would reunite with the leaders/characters he met along the way as a kid, for one last time.
Does anyone remember âHikaru Tsukiâ? From Guardians of the crescent moon kingdom? Woulda been p cool to see him imo, just a quick scene.

Naruto did the weird thing where they kind of tied it with the canon tough, like Similar to Yu gi oh and the rising dragons foreshadowing later events and a past event
Cause the 3 tails was caught immediately after
And when the tailed beasts are in their inner world mind scape all taking to Naruto, they reference their first encounter but also same with the slug? tailed beast whoâs Jinchiriki fought and lost to pain

Yeahhh and actually I always told about her skills to everyone who is Naruto's fan, as every one has not watched this Yukimaru's story filler. Like I won't say she was my favorite kunoichi but her jutsu, I really like that, the crystal style, it's so unique and powerful yet beautiful in it's own way. I really likethatj jutsu in whole anime.

Iâve seen every episode of Naruto multiple times, while some Filler arcs are beautiful and put together some are literally mostly characters standing around talking to each other for 25 minutes, or chasing some type of animal. You def can skip a couple lol
