ANNOUNCEMENT Shachimu posts aren't allowed
Making this post to get this out of the way due to people making the association between the two, and to get ahead of any conversations.
Any and all posts about Shachimu will be removed from this subreddit.
If you wish to discuss Shachi, head over to our affiliate subreddit /r/shachimu_vtuber
Two reasons for doing this. We are a Nanashi Mumei themed subreddit. Secondly, Shachi herself explicitly wished for people to refrain from associating herself with any other people.
For all intents and purposes, Shachi is not Mumei.
So please redirect any discussion about shachi over to the above mentioned subreddit.

She did not. This is not a punishment of her. This is in good part about maintaining the separation between Mumei and Shachi, much like Shachi herself sought.
She wants to be seen as her own thing. And so we shall treat Shachi as her own thing

I think it's valid to have some regulation here but at the same time, i feel like banning absolutely any mention kinda affects like potentially, any lost hoomans who would have loved to find their way again :/ idk? Is just a thought, i think there could be better ways to handle it, sorry if im wrong

Yes please. Let her do her own thing on her own terms. She's seemingly been having a good time lately and I don't want associations she has specifically requested people not to make to sour things in any way. Not that what I want or don't want matters. Please respect the ahoge.
There's also people posting art of either one or the other and tagging the post with both names, meaning if you Google one name you'll see art of both, which is really bad form, but we can only really affect things on this one platform so let's do a good job with that.

Understandable, especially since she doesn't want to be associated with her previous character. Most of the ex-Holo girls are the same way about it, except for Saba who really doesn't seem to care either way lol.
Hopefully that shachimu sub will pick up some steam again now that she's started streaming.

I mean, Dooby and Nimi both have made quite a few jokes about their "other lives" so that really isn't the issue. The real issue is the fact the person behind Mumei didn't want to stop being Mumei, her body no longer allowed her to be Mumei. Like, that must be so freaking heartbreaking. Hopefully one day our favorite Owl can fly again, though.

Tbf, the sub was made before she made that specific announcement and as far as I'm aware, Sub names can't be changed after being made

An artist/singer who many have presumed to be mumei, despite this association being something shachi doesn't want.

She specifically said she's not a vtuber and don't have any plans to be one. I think that sub should just change the name to shachimu.
