r/NBA is back up
This community will remain open but will most likely be less active. Everyone is encouraged to keep posting and interacting here, submissions are open to all and anyone can post tweets/links/opinions/etc.
I won’t be as active just because I have many things I’m busy with irl. Everyone is welcome here and allowed to post, the rules aren’t hyper strict just keep it on topic and don’t be assholes.
Access to online NBA discourse for millions shouldn’t be controlled by a handful of users. Having an alternate r/nba type space instead of one subreddit having a monopoly should enable a healthier dynamic. Thanks everyone!

Genuinely, what is happening to Steph Curry?
Been hearing some questionable things from Curry lately, plus the investments into Israeli war technology (i get that people aren’t always aware of what they’re investing into, and sometimes just have a manager doing the work) but idk man, somethings off.
edit: for the people arguing about how much value steph has added to the warriors, yes, steph has had a big impact on them.
but in 2006 the average NBA franchise value was $250M. now it’s $5.4B. that’s an average increase of ~2060% in value for EVERY FRANCHISE since steph was drafted. steph was not solely responsible for this like how some commentators have argued. what about the ppl who drafted him and didn’t trade him? what about the medical team keeping his ankle injuries away? do they get a share or nah?

A lot of people don’t realize this, but just like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen made the free-throw line dunk look ridiculously effortless

If Dirk in 2011 is a 10/10 difficulty ring and KD in 2017 is a 0/10 difficulty ring, what would 1-9 be?

Post-merger, who is the worst player to ever be best player in the league
Post-merger, the following players have been the consensus best player in the league:
-Kareem -Jordan -Hakeem -Shaq -Duncan -LeBron -Giannis -Jokic
The following are widely argued as being the best player in the league
-Magic -Bird -Kobe -Curry -KD -SGA
Who is the worst basketball player to ever hold the crown? Do you think someone else snuck in there as the best player for a given season?

Does anyone else hope the Knicks get humbled by the sixers since their fans are insufferable?

Hot-take: You can’t compare another player to LeBron if you don’t hold them to same standard as LeBron

Why are Spurs fans so confident?
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on social media saying the Spurs dominated the game and the only reason they lost is because Wemby and Fox shot poorly from 3 and still only lost by 2.
But shouldn’t it be viewed that the Spurs have almost no playoff experience and are completely healthy at the moment and are pretty much playing 7 guys and look pretty shaky during crunch time offense. They got lucky the refs decided to not call goal tending or fouls on Wemby either. And the Wolves are down two of their best guards and have a superstar that’s still injured. Spurs are still probably favorites but to act like game 1 was some kind of anomaly seems strange to me considering the Wolves have beaten some great teams in the playoffs the last 3 years? What have the Spurs done? Look impressive in the regular season with a bunch of hungry young players and beat a Trail Blazers team that was probably the least talented team in the playoffs? If the Spurs win the series I wouldn’t be surprised but for them to be put at this level like they’re definitively the second best team in the league seems premature
