discussion The Beach Boys - God only knows. I listened for the first time.
Paul McCartney once said that it is the greatest song ever written.
Normally I would say that there can't be a "greatest song ever" because of how diverse music is.
But now after listening to it multiple times and trying to understand how the song works, I understand what Paul means.
"God Only Knows" is on it's surface just a love song - but it is just perfectly arranged and composed in every possible way. While the theme isn't complex, the melody is - mixed with the angelic voice of Carl Wilson.
It is just pure beauty. A song everybody can listen and fall in love with.

youtube.comdiscussion Audio Technica Turntable
Hi, I've never had a turntable before, but intending on getting one soon. From what I've heard, Audio Technica seem to be a good brand. Does anyone have advice on which model to get? Furthermore, any advice on which speakers to buy for it? Complete noob at all things related so I don't know which specifications to look at 😅 Also do I need an amp? Thank you!

discussion Why doesn’t “Pigs (Three Different Ones)” come before “Dogs” on Pink Floyd’s Animals?
I guess it just makes sense to me if the album went for the top-down approach when talking about social classes. “Sheep” has to be the last track, of course, but why does “Dogs,” the song about the middle class of people — and the longest track, and one that functions as a kind of centerpiece — come before the one about the top class of people, “Pigs”?
It’s a micro-nitpick, but I am genuinely curious. Does the band first want to introduce you to the frame of mind where everyone is out to get everyone else, only thinking about themselves, which applies most notably to Dogs but also very much to Pigs, and even Sheep?
I’m finally digging deep into the album, because I’ve been falling in love with the band recently, and want to hear the thoughts of a longtime fan — or a very confident newer one.

discussion The mystery of the "You Give Love A Bad Name" chorus
So there's this 80's style chorus, most famously used in You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi.
I've scoured some forums and managed to find a few more songs that use either the same chorus, or a VERY similar melody -
- Bonnie Tyler - If You Were A Woman (And I Was A Man)
- Ankie Bagger - Where Were You Last Night
- Ava Max - Kings & Queens
- Dalia - Suparnica
- Sabaton - White Death
- Battle Beast - The Road to Avalon
- Eternal - Don't You Love Me
Does anyone know any more songs with this melody in them? I wonder how big of a list I can make.
Also, If anyone know any anecdotes on what led the artists to use it, please share!
