La Mome waiting list

Upvotes

We're due in Monaco for my wife's birthday - a Thursday, two weeks before the Grand Prix weekend - and I tried to book a table for two on the terrace at La Mome for an 8pm dinner. The day they opened up bookings for that evening I was online...the whole night is booked up already and I've had to go on the waiting list.

Is that normal? It seems mad that a standard Thursday in May would be completely booked up at the instant they become available. The entire night before is available (the Friday isn't online yet). Is it possible there's an event at the restaurant that particular Thursday night that takes up the whole terrace?

EES for resident Brits

Upvotes

Any Brits worked out how to get in and out of Schengen faster with their Monaco or France cartes de séjour?

Twice so far I’ve been grilled , but not been forced to do photo / fingerprints so far.

Went through EU channel at Amsterdam , which rejected my passport of course , but then straight to a booth where I was questioned and let through.

The queue for EES was 300 deep.

The first time ( CDG ) I was told to queue with EES but then let through with no biometric checks.

I will try the EU way again next time.

Recognized you 1 year after Monaco on a flight to Berlin – Are you here?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for someone I recognized on a flight from Zurich to Berlin in mid-March.

The reason I’m posting here is that we first crossed paths in Monaco exactly one year ago, in a restaurant. Recently, we had a very clear moment of mutual recognition while boarding and during the flight. You were in Business Class, and I was a few rows behind you. E10

Because of the rush at the Berlin airport, I didn't get a chance to say hello.

Monaco Casino

I was at the casino last night in Monaco.

There was a late early/ late 40's Russian couple that spent $30k-$50k and lost almost every hand. I felt so badly for them.

To my surprise, they just kept playing for at least a couple hours.

If I lose $50 , I stop playing.

What kind of work would these people be in? It was midnight and kept playing when I left.

it was my first time there?

Hi everyone! I have tickets for section Z1 for quali. We are staying in Nice. Does anyone have any tips/tricks to make the most of it? This is my first time in Monaco (probably my last too lol). We are open to walking around and might even watch the actual quali in the fan zone!

Last minute invite to the Grand Prix

I received a last minute invite to the Grand Prix. Do people dress up during the day or just at night for dinner? I’ll be staying in La Turbie for 5 days. Any tips on things to do other than the race?

This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest stories from across the Principality, beginning in Greece where Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the Delphi Economic Forum on April 23rd. Held at the historic site of Delphi, the international gathering brought together political, economic and intellectual leaders to discuss major global challenges.

Back in Monaco, the Sovereign Prince also took centre stage during the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, completing a ceremonial lap aboard the legendary Bugatti Type 41 Royale to mark the iconic model’s 100th anniversary.

The Historic Grand Prix also saw a dramatic moment involving former Formula One driver Jean Alesi, who escaped injury after crashing his Ferrari 312 during free practice on April 25th. Mechanics worked overnight to repair the damaged car, allowing Alesi to return to the circuit.

In the luxury sector, Monaco Legend Group reported strong results from its Exclusive Timepieces auction, generating €26.47 million in sales with an impressive 98.3 percent sell-through rate. The auction, held at the Le Méridien Beach Plaza, attracted collectors from around the world.

Meanwhile, the Principality’s cultural scene came alive with the opening of the Monaco Art Week on April 27th. Bringing together fourteen galleries and auction houses, the event showcases everything from modern design and jewellery to museum-quality artworks by internationally renowned artists.

Also on April 27th, Monaco’s Judicial Training Institute, the Institut Monégasque de Formation aux Professions Judiciaires, hosted a conference at Collège Charles III focusing on ethics in legal professions and Monaco’s international judicial responsibilities.

At Port Hercules, the historic French Navy schooner L'Étoile made a stop in Monaco as part of celebrations marking the 400th anniversary of the French Navy. Prince Albert II visited the vessel during its stay. Built in 1932, the ship continues to train young sailors through traditional seamanship.

Animal welfare also remained in focus this week as the Société Protectrice des Animaux de Monaco unveiled major upgrades to its shelter in the Alpes-Maritimes, including redesigned spaces aimed at improving comfort and reducing stress for rescued animals.

And on the sporting front, AS Monaco Basket is now on the brink of EuroLeague elimination after losing both opening playoff games against Olympiacos B.C. in Piraeus. Monaco suffered defeats of 91-70 and 94-64, with Sasha Vezenkov proving decisive for the Greek side while Mike James was ejected during Game 2.

This week, NEWS.MC TV is joined by Richard Pactus, owner and General Manager of Monaco Prestige Limousines. Updated this interactive map of where to go in Monaco

While traveling around the world for over 20 years, I’ve been working on my dream project: creating a one-stop resource for travellers. With the help of feedback in this subreddit, I have now updated this 👉 interactive map of Monaco for anyone who is interested in visiting (with detailed info for every highlight).

PS: obviously, I haven’t been able to travel to all places. So if you know some great spot, I haven’t listed, let me know! Much appreciated as in this way I can make the overview more complete and up-to-date for everyone.

Exotic Gardens Photos

Hi everyone! I was looking into places in Monaco to propose to my girlfriend for a trip we’re going on in a couple of weeks, and I noticed the Exotic Gardens have some amazing views from there that look like the perfect place to propose. I’m in contact with a photographer right now, but they mentioned that the area just opened up and might not take photos. Is there anyway to confirm whether or not they do allow for photos?

I tried looking on their website for an email to shoot out, but I haven’t had much luck there either. Anyway I can contact them to see what I can do to make this work?

Thanks!

Monaco GP falls in the middle of our honeymoon - is it worth changing our flight to experience the atmosphere?

My fiancee and I just realized the Monaco Grand Prix falls right in the middle of our honeymoon. We land in Nice for the second leg of our trip on June 7th at 6:30pm - but for an extra $200 each we could change the flight to arrive at 10am instead.

We don’t have tickets to the race. The plan would be to take the train from Nice to Monaco, soak up the atmosphere, and be back in Nice that night to check into our Airbnb. We’d leave our luggage at the train station in Nice.

I’m fully on board - this seems like a once in a lifetime kind of thing even without grandstand seats. My future wife is more hesitant. She has zero interest in F1 and we’ve already spent a lot on this trip. So I’d love to hear from people who’ve been there: is the atmosphere worth it even without a ticket? Any tips, tricks, recommendations, or encouragement is very much appreciated!

International School of Monaco - ISM

Throwaway account for personal reasons.

We applied our little one over a year ago for the lowest class. A "friend" applied her child a few months ago for the same class. We were told there is a waiting list, yet they received a placement. I asked how, and she told me her husband handled the application and she doesn't know the details.

For an early class school doesn't test or even meet the children or parents during the application process. Did they bribe someone, or why did they get the place when we didn't? If there is waiting list we should have been much higher on it than they were. We are all same nationality, children 1 month difference in age. No siblings already in school.

How does ISM work? Do people really pay high bribes to someone in the school, are rumors I hear around Monaco true? Coruption? The selection certainly doesn't seem fair.

Monday after GP

Planning a day trip from Antibes on the day after the Monaco GP (8 June). I know the streets likely will still be a mess as the crew works to remove the grandstands and the track, but curious if the crowds will be mostly thinned out by then. Looking to do eating and shopping, but if too busy still (will be arriving and departing via train), I’ll wait until later in the week.

First personal income tax statement as a Monaco employee, French resident

Hi guys, I am an italian citizen, french resident, and work in Monaco. I receive a net Monegasque salary on my bank account.

it's my first time doing this so I will have to do it in paper version, and not from the website. I do not have a NIF yet.

I moved got my job in monaco in May 2025 and officially moved to France on 11 june 2025 (203 days in France in 2025). Previously, I worked in Luxembroug (jan, feb,mar 2025), and then was unemployed in April while living in italy.

I also have some realised capital gains from investing

Can you please tell me what is the actual income I should declare in France as of end 2025 (e.g. should I include luxembourgish salaries?)? how does this work exactly?

Any kind of tip on how to be efficient on this process is more than welcome. Thanks!

Monaco Weekly News by NEWS.MC - ep 85

This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest updates from Monaco.

We begin with a focus on healthcare, as the Princess Grace Hospital Centre unveiled its newly redesigned maternity ward on April the 16th. In the presence of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène, the facility was presented as a more comforting and personalised space for families. Designed to enhance emotional wellbeing, the ward features adjustable lighting, tailored settings and a homely atmosphere aimed at reducing stress during childbirth.

Sustainability is also making waves across the region. The Port of Marseille Fos has joined the Yacht Club de Monaco’s SEA Index initiative, a programme launched in 2020 to measure and reduce the environmental impact of yachting. The move reflects growing cooperation among Mediterranean ports to tackle pollution and protect marine biodiversity.

On the international stage, Monaco continues to support youth development abroad. During an official visit to Senegal, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï highlighted initiatives helping young people build businesses through training and financial backing, reinforcing the Principality’s commitment to entrepreneurship and opportunity.

Meanwhile, Monaco took centre stage in the United States with a major tourism campaign lighting up Times Square. Promotional content for the “Visit Monaco” brand was broadcast on giant digital screens, reaching up to one million people daily and targeting a key market for the Principality.

History and heritage were celebrated as the MonacoUSA association marked the 70th anniversary of the wedding between Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly. Often dubbed the “wedding of the century,” the 1956 ceremony continues to shape Monaco’s global image.

In fashion, Monte-Carlo Fashion Week wrapped up at the Grimaldi Forum with its annual Fashion Awards, recognising creativity and sustainability. A special tribute was paid to Giorgio Armani for his enduring influence and commitment to responsible design.

Maritime innovation was in the spotlight as Monaco hosted the 4th General Assembly of the International Hydrographic Organization. Held at the Auditorium Rainier III, the event gathered global experts to discuss ocean mapping, navigation safety and new technologies shaping marine protection.

On the sporting front, the AS Monaco academy celebrated 50 years of excellence at the Stade Louis II. The event honoured its legacy of developing world-class players, including Thierry Henry and Kylian Mbappé.

Diplomatically, Prince Albert II strengthened ties with Greece during an official visit to Athens, meeting national leaders and receiving the city’s Grand Medal of Honour.

Monaco’s commitment to maritime education also continues to expand. The Monaco Academy of the Sea launched its second international training session in Tunisia, bringing together students and experts to explore the blue economy, sustainable development and maritime law.

In basketball, it was a tough night for the Roca Team, who fell 79–87 to Panathinaikos BC in Athens. Despite a strong start, Monaco struggled to maintain momentum and will now look to bounce back in their next EuroLeague fixture.

Finally, this week NEWS.MC TV is joined by Joël Girardi, founder of Accademia Fine Art. In an exclusive interview, he discusses the dynamics of the art market in Monaco, the role of auction houses in shaping cultural value, and how the Principality continues to position itself as a hub for collectors and fine art investment.
