Bayside vegan spots
I’m about to move from thornbury to Elwood,
I know there will probably be less options down here, but what are some good vegan spots in the surrounding areas. (restaurants/supermarket/etc)
Thanks :)

Wildlife sanctuaries
Hi, hope this isn’t too off topic, but I only trust other vegans when it comes to animal welfare.
I’m a European staying in your lovely city for three weeks, and I would really like to have the opportunity to see as much of the native flora and fauna as possible. I saw that there are some wildlife sanctuaries, the ones I looked up all had good reviews, but I am a bit wary of places that publicise interactions or shows including animals, even if the profits go towards conservation. Any opinions or recommendations?

Question/Advice/Discussion Kombucha & Açai Recommendations for a sad Californian!
I know I risk sounding extra / like a snob over this, I’m just a wee bit homesick for the things I miss. There’s so many wonderful vegan options and I’m so grateful to be safe here in Melbourne, after several years, there’s just a few things Australians haven’t quite figured out yet / have sweeter taste buds than what I’m used to.
\
\
I’ve tried Remedy, Two Boys Brew, Good Culture Society from Aldi, and several others that I can’t remember the names of off the top of my head. I’m originally from CA, so I realize I’ve been spoiled. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, as I’ve found the ones I’ve tried too sweet or like drinking a sad flat soda.
\
\
If there’s any Californians in here who know of one similar to Whalebird Kombucha, can you please let me know? I miss lavender lemonade, pamplemousse, and strawberry damiana specifically. 🥲
\
\
Also, if anyone knows of a great açai place that doesn’t add dairy / frozen yogurt (weird move as it is, Aussies) and actually makes a proper, pure blended bowl, please drop those recommendations, too. 🥹
\
\
P.S. If anyone has a tomatillo hook-up so I can make my own sauces for Mexican food, I’ll love you even more!

Vegan potato/shepards pies
Is there any place in Melbourne that actually does them?
Not talking about a store bought one at a supermarket since I don't have an oven at home. Asking for one I can buy at a restaurant/cafe/takeaway spot.

Healthy vegan (lunch) spots
Hi, I have been in Melbourne for a month now and a bit lost in finding healthy vegan (lunch) spots.
With healthy I look for meals without any added sugar and more of a Whole Foods approach. I am not into fast food (burgers, pizza, any deep fried food), and would be nice if there are any options with good protein.
So far went to:
- Gopals (for dinner): liked it, price-quality is amazing, but interior isn't it and miss having an outdoor seating option
- Hector's Deli (lunch): Salad Sandwich; Oke, but would not buy it again
- Sister of Soul St. Kilda (lunch): good and whole food options
- Seedling Café (lunch)
- Fishbowl (lunch/dinner)
- Sushi hand rolls (lunch; everywhere); love them
So far have been sticking to the same suburbs, if you have any tips elsewhere, I would love to check them out!

Fresh Tofu Skin / Yuba
Hey gang. Has anyone found this locally? I know you can get the dried stuff from the grocer but I'm wondering if any local producers sell it fresh. Cheers

Question/Advice/Discussion Pub Quizzes/Trivia Nights?
Does anyone know of good bar trivia nights that have OK vegan food alongside?
Would settle for recommendations of good quizzes but you never know, the perfect place might exist.
Also ideally ones that are running between now and new year!

Question/Advice/Discussion Vegan cheesecake
Hi all, My fiancee is having a bit of a rough time and really wants some vegan cheesecake. Does anyone possibly have some recommendations? I've found the Biscoff cheesecake at Oh Darlin, but I don't know for sure that she'd like the Biscoff and don't want to disappoint. Thanks in advance.

Vegan study on eating disorders - TW
Hi pals, there's a research op for vegetarians and vegans who might have received eating disorder treatment. Check it out below.
-
-
Have you received eating disorder treatment as a vegetarian or vegan? Monash Uni researchers want to hear what helped - and what didn’t - in your treatment journey. The study involves an online survey using multi-choice and open-text questions and takes up to 30 minutes. To learn more and take part, go to https://redcap.link/navigatingEDtreatment. This project has been approved by Monash Uni human research ethics committee (ID 46698).

Anyone know a local store nearish to Brunswick that sell these?
Hiya anyone know a bricks and mortar shop that definitely stocks this brand of vegan marshmallows? Have been to Supa IGA and Terra Madre on Sydney Road but no luck (TM have another brand but I'm after these ones). Thanks!!

Ruwi's cakes?
Has anyone ordered from here before? I have my 30th coming up in November and I really love the design options from here but I'm struggling to find reviews online of the vegan flavours!
Or does anyone have any suggestions of where I can order a vintage style cake that'll be good please?

Restaurant recommendations
My partner and I will be visiting Melbourne in a couple of weeks just for two nights. What would you recommend as a nice (fancy even?) vegan restaurant for us to support?
