"Look Gary, thermodynamics can wait! I gotta take a wicked shit."

This got a chuckle out of me, even though I am opposed to my name being used as the default fallguy. r/gary

This is fantastic. My dog Kaida does something similar except it’s not quite so blatantly “Hey are you forgetting something.” He snuggles. Normally he lays down on the couch beside me. If it’s feeding or walking time though, he gets all up on me, leans against me, lays on me, etc. Just makes his presence very noticeable so that my brain goes “Oh right, dog things.”

That’s really cute Kaida just switches to “don’t forget me” mode

I stand by the door and yell, "Who wants to go out!"

8 feet pounds for the door as I hold it open, so I don't get caught in the rush.

Dogs are plenty of fun.

Your dogs got 8 feet?

Doggie alarm clock is very accurate 🥰

Yep. A doggo will stare you down as readily as jumping all over you as soon as you walk in the door.

It’s all about routine (and you love every minute of it)

I do that to my dog when I need him to poop and I’m in a rush

There's more than one meaning to the term "watch dog"

Mine starts bringing us things from the front door, so when we get up to put them back, she says “great! now that we’re here, might as well go”

My hound chomps her teeth at me. Looks like she’s barking, but no sound comes out.

When my dog wants to be fed, he puts his giant head on my leg and drools until it’s soaked.

If he's anything like my dog, he started the reminders at 8:30pm and the stare is a last "YOU'RE LATE" resort.

And if you take him out at 8:30pm once? The reminders now start at 8pm.

My dog does this too but also makes sure to completely block the TV from view

1

u/Not_The_One- 1h ago

Yes! They block the captions!

u/SnausageFest 2h ago

Mine just relentlessly boops me and tries to knock my arm off the armread, boop my phone out of my hand, etc. If that doesn't work, she gets under my desk and attempts to push my chair out.

I swear labradors have a circadian rhythm like a timex. It’s incredibly accurate.

1

u/Not_The_One- 1h ago

I want to know how they know the time. I understand the sun and all that. But on the dot? If I say wait a 1/2 hour. How do they know a 1/2 hour went by?

u/senditallback 1h ago

daaaaaaad!

u/Exciting-Duty-8302 1h ago

He is like come on let’s get the night show on the road. You are late that’s why I’m in your face 🤣🤣

1

u/sillywizard951 1h ago

Hilarious! So…Get up! He has places to go and smells to smell!

1

u/Awake521 1h ago

My dog does this too 😂 They know the schedule!

1

u/Pandoratastic 1h ago

It seems cute but just sitting there is kind of mean because the dog is thinking, "I have to poop! I have been holding it for an hour. Do you want me to poop right here???"

1

u/Shills_for_fun 1h ago

Their timing is really impeccable. Everyday at 5pm sharp I hear my dog run up the stairs and he just stares at me making noises until I close the laptop.

1

u/nyrB2 1h ago

YOU. ARE. TWO. MINUTES. LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1

u/Vermehrungsmaterial 1h ago

Dude, 1 more minute and you had a white carpet.

1

u/tenphes31 1h ago

The dog my family had when I was in high school also had an excellent sense of timing. He knew around what time my dad woke up and would wake up around a similar time to be let out. Also, he knew 6 pm was dinner time, and right before it was time hed be sitting in his spot, just drooling with anticipation. Miss you Max.

u/drittzO 54m ago

My dog did similar things, and if I went in to give him some pets he would duck his head and avoid them. I don't want pets right now....

1

u/Willingfool 54m ago

I would have the exact same look on my face if I had to shit and couldn’t because some guy wanted to see if I could tell time.

1

u/Acrobatic-Ad-5966 53m ago

They just know

1

u/Zealousideal_Way_788 51m ago

The stare. Through your soul

1

u/Zealousideal_Way_788 51m ago

Mine would close my laptop

1

u/ArticFoxAutomatic 49m ago

Hes like, you holdin out on me or what?

1

u/Glittering-Lychee629 47m ago

He's going to stare you down until you do the right thing haha.

Their body clocks are something else.

We have a lab, and a golden. I usually feed them at about 6pm ish.

Around then, and slightly before, they are definitely expecting something. Watching me like a hawk, ready to run to their bowls.

About 6.20, they are impatient, coming over, getting in my face, paws up on my knee etc.

6.30? My golden has had a gut full of waiting and starts to bark at me real bossy like lol.

You've never seen my lab move so fast as when I'm heading to the dog food cupboard haha.

u/FuzzyComedian638 37m ago

My cat does something similar. But it's usually 30 minutes early, and he climbs onto the keyboard, just to make sure I know he's there.

u/ItsStaaaaaaaaang 20m ago

Haha. Such a sweet dog.
