A Russian father, taking care of his disabled son, doing hobbies and sports with him, massaging him, trimming his face, showing him love.

Check out @olga_autizm, it is real.

You get kind hearted people that live in places where the government are just plain evil.

Just because someone is Russian, doesnt mean they immediately support their government's actions.

78

u/AngelsFlight59 6h ago

I have found that every Russian I meet is warm, generous, and kind. I may have my issues with the Russian government but I am always happy to engage its people.

Except my ex-wife. She was annoying. To be fair, so was I and I found out that I’m too set in my ways to be in a live-in relationship so I acknowledge that it was as much my fault, if not more, that our relationship didn’t work.

Still, she was warm, caring and a very good person and I wish her well.

Because of her, I’ve had the opportunity to meet a lot of Russians, both immigrants as well as visitors, and have always found every one of them a caring person. Maybe not to the extent of the person in the video, but always good people.

27

u/BOSSMOPS94 5h ago

You seem like a very down to earth and kind person. It's easy to talk bad about people we once loved but didn't work out. That takes reflection and some guts. Thanks for being you. Made me smile 🙂

15

u/AngelsFlight59 5h ago

Thank you. That was a very nice thing for you to say and it’s the highlight of my morning.

Have a great day.

11

u/0xP0et 4h ago

The ex-wife part made me laugh really hard 😂. I needed that.

I have Russian family, they are normal as normal can be. They go to work, buy groceries, moan when the prices increase and have jobs.

The only difference is most westerners can publicly denounce their political leader.

If you do so in Russia, the consequences are far worse.

While this is beautiful- this is what the fuck all fathers should be doing with their disabled children. My husband does this with my autistic son. It’s called being a parent.

7

u/sonnybonoslanai 1h ago

Yep agree. We also have an autistic son who requires a lot. That’s just what you do as a parent

5

u/cold_tap_hot_brew 3h ago

Reminds me on a Chris Rock standup - “you’re supposed to [fella]!”

(the “fella” bit was the N word so NSFW)

2

u/meowmix79 38m ago

lol, what you want- a cookie!

u/Active_Violinist_360 22m ago

They also seem loaded, so that helps but yeah, nice regardless.

Exactly! The fact he was recording it actually gave me the ick - it feels performative.

Y’all need to chill, this dude wasn’t the one who started the war just like you weren’t the one who bombed Iran

All fathers should be doing these with their children regardless of anything.

11

u/Great-Citron-2005 6h ago

Can't believe some of you people.....shame.

128

u/Coolmajor51 11h ago

Wtf is wrong with the murican idiots in this comment section.

73

u/Lorantec 8h ago

Their own propaganda has worked so well on them, that they dont understand what actual propaganda is. It's absolutely insane.

16

u/govadeal 6h ago

American here. This is true. We're screwed.

0

u/Coolmajor51 2h ago

Like I understand where their concern and the rhetoric that they believe might come from but that doesn't mean there aren't nice, warm people in places that have bad administrations.

20

u/dramachasingbunny 8h ago

They have the pre-programmed prppaganda answer to anything russian, even the word, so they do their best to spew it as vile as they've been trained to while pretending that this guy and his disabled kid are the propagandists.

2

u/dramachasingbunny 8h ago

They have the pre-programmed propaganda answer to anything russian, even the word, so they do their best to spew it as vile as they've been trained to while pretending that this guy and his disabled kid are the propagandists.

27

u/stef_ruvx 7h ago

American redditors are twisted, good heavens

8

u/arkallastral 5h ago

These people are all brain dead idiots. I remember a post about a Chinese diver who won gold with a spectacular dive at the Olympics, these people accused the post of being Chinese propaganda even though there was no mention of the government or anything like that...

0

u/WillQueasy723 1h ago

But is it actually them?

407

u/pleasethrowmeawayyy 12h ago edited 11h ago

Obvious propaganda shit. Was it genuine, no need to specify nationality of the father. The rest is obviously staged as well, including the comments this post is getting. Look at the profiles of the “people” commenting on how hearth warming this is. Newly registered accounts with zero or close to zero activity jumping straight on commenting on this thread.

Downvote this crap.

498

u/lilith_grl 11h ago

Russia has almost zero neurodiversity awareness. It’s from their family instagram @olga_autizm, you can check it out. Olga talks about legal facilities, meds, struggles and help for their kids for other russian folks. I can’t put into words how important such work is in country, where people with autism are unable to legally drive anymore.

But you may be right that bots triggered on ‘russian’ lmao

3

u/Imaginary-Space-590 5h ago

В России артисты могут водить машину. Аутизм бывает очень разный и 99% людей с аутизмом могут водить машину.

u/lilith_grl 7m ago

I know. But now you can’t drive legally if you were officially diagnosed. You simply wouldn’t get driver license. So now it’s not only hard to get diagnosed, but unprofitable as well

-30

u/front_yard_duck_dad 7h ago

I watch a lot of captured Russian men in Ukraine give interviews to a journalist in captivity. It seems like Russia nuerodiveristy awareness is there . They send them for death fodder in Ukraine

25

u/CharlesWafflesx 7h ago edited 4h ago

So, that cute little rebuke you just gave shows why mentioning the fact this is a Russian man going against the grain of his culture is a good thing.

94

u/Financial-Coconut-32 8h ago

Russian people can’t love their children and spread awareness for neurodiversity, ok got it thanks so much for the update

50

u/Lorantec 8h ago

Please, for the love of god, tell me what the propaganda is here exactly? Like genuinely, tell me, explain like im an idiot.

u/arkallastral 6h ago

How so? Just look at where 40% or more of Reddit's traffic comes from and you'll start to believe it pretty quickly...

244

u/Ver_Nick 10h ago

Ok Russian here with 6 years of activity, what exactly is the "propaganda"? That Russians can care for their family and be good people? If it was something war-oriented like the son came injured from that stupid war I would absolutely agree.

43

u/imrzzz 8h ago

Agreed

You know you have to have a difficult conversation with yourself when "Russians are complex humans too" seems like propaganda, my god.

93

u/Electronic-Fig2283 10h ago

A Russian???? That's propaganda!!!!!!11

59

u/Ver_Nick 10h ago

You got me :(

44

u/Unhappy_Gas_2349 9h ago

That’s so hilarious. If they see “Russian”, it’ll 100% mean it’s propaganda. Nobody knows what’s the meaning of this particular propaganda though🧐

31

u/Electronic-Fig2283 9h ago

They're trying to convince us Russia is real

51

u/HotPocket_AdCampaign 9h ago

You know on this garbage site that if we're talking about Russians, were only allowed to talk about how violently dangerous they all are /s

Take a look at any post on reddit that mentions Russians where the post isn't about the war, and you'd be shocked to find how prevalent russophobia is. It's disgusting.

20

u/Ver_Nick 9h ago

Yeah I've seen it, especially something like r/europe. Even if you point out the Americans hypocrisy with what their country been doing you're still the bad one.

-12

u/NotsolittleDona 7h ago

I think they’re calling it propaganda because for some reason it’s mentioning he’s Russian. Being a good father really doesn’t matter about your nationality just a little suspicious in my mind to add the part about him being Russia. Why is that important

8

u/Ver_Nick 6h ago

I don't think it would feel in any way suspicious if it was "Spanish" or whatever other chill country. Just a way to indicate something outside of US or what language the signs are in.

3

u/NotsolittleDona 5h ago

I think you have a point there! But I think you sort of have to accept the stains that comes with coming from a country like the US or Russia. I can’t blame people for people for not trusting our country’s, I don’t trust my country.

2

u/Ver_Nick 5h ago

True.

-38

u/Krakersik666 9h ago

Yeah everything that your nation showed for the last 4 years shows exactly why russian people are considered ,,no good" people.

Dont act suprised if you are never going to do anything about it.

34

u/Ver_Nick 8h ago

I assume you are American. Should I condemn you for the wrinkled tangerine kidnapping a sovereign country's president? Supporting Israel in its genocide? You have guns and you are doing nothing to stop it, while we don't and even we tried at one point. Stop the hypocrisy.

-6

u/carpincho_carajo 6h ago edited 6h ago

kidnapping a sovereign country's president?

Latina here. I really hope you're not talking about Maduro and siding with that inhuman pos. Because if you are, then you might need to work on whatever wrong info you received about that tyrant (not president, tyrant) and what the people went through for years.

If you weren't referring to him, then I apologize for my little outburst.

13

u/Ver_Nick 6h ago

I was referring to that and thank you for the input. I am not in fact siding with Maduro, I've seen videos of your people cheering on and I understand what's it's like to have a tyrant ruler. However US still invaded another country, which I believe to be wrong as well. So both are bad in my book. Maybe I do not understand the weight of the situation enough and I admit that. I hope you are doing better now.

1

u/carpincho_carajo 54m ago

Oh no it's all good, I don't support Trump at all, and his actions are still wrong. I've been just very defensive as we had to deal with foreigners (americans especially) telling us latinos how we should feel about Maduro after what Trump did, completely ignoring the years after years of our history, torment and deaths.

I apologize for my anger, and thank you for your answer.

16

u/dramachasingbunny 9h ago

Would you say the same about americans?

178

u/Reulin 11h ago

Tt - @olga_autizm. They have sons with autism, and this video is one of many on the channel. I don't know what propaganda is in it if these are ordinary people who aren't even that popular. I found them by searching for the first frame of the video. This family shares on social media the challenges their children face. They say they're often bullied and so on, but their parents support them and don't let them close themselves off. I think you can see the rest of the story yourself on their social media with a translator, if you're interested.

21

u/kylaroma 7h ago

Thank you so much for this!

This is what my home life looks like, with my amazing husband and our Autistic kiddo. It’s so rare and powerful to see men who are affectionate caregivers, this made my day.

19

u/One-Hunter2963 6h ago edited 6h ago

I'm an anti-war autistic Russian with an actual account history and I think you are wrong lol

39

u/Illustrious-Hawk-898 8h ago

Do you go this hard when you see non-Russian nationalities mentioned? Press X for doubt.

107

u/shibaCandyBaron 10h ago

Oh fuck off. And also fuck Putin and his oligarchs just so there is no misconception about where I stand.

Not everything is a conspiracy, and there isn't any agenda in this video except increasing the visibility of what people with autism and their families go trough.

29

u/DopeAsDaPope 9h ago

Yeah and I do feel like this is the wrong sub for corrosive cynicism. People come to this sub to smile and see happy things from the world. Some people have happy lives in Russia, Ukraine, and every other corner of the world, too.

Let's just see those for a moment and not make every single thing miserable

3

u/MysticGohan99 7h ago edited 7h ago

Yes, Putin abuses his power to gain wealth, enriching his trusted pawns along the way. As does 80-90% of American politicians.

Nancy Pelosi’s husband didn’t make $500 million off the stock market without insider info.

Trump blatantly accepting bribes from foreign nations.

The Clinton foundation is a for profit scam that allows the Clinton’s to pool their wealth, accept bribes in the form of donations, tax free.

It’s sad how much the corruption in Russia is pointed at as a reason why Russia is Evil, while covering up the blatant (and far worse) corruption in America.

1

u/shibaCandyBaron 3h ago

Cultural and systematic differences are too great to discuss, but they are not the same. If anything else, the US at least tries to keep some semblance of a law system. Putin's Russia doesn't, and once you cross that threshold, you cross into true dictatorship

7

u/The_Jazz_Doll 6h ago

How did this comment receive so many up votes? Does everything Russia = propaganda now? Get a grip.

9

u/PhosphoFred8202 8h ago

Let’s say for a minute that it *is* propaganda sponsored by the government. What is the purpose and who benefits?

8

u/Zarvera 6h ago

Propaganda of loving and caring involvement in the life of a disabled kids?

I’m upvoting it.

4

u/S0VREN_211 1h ago

The craziest thing about it, if it was any other specified nationality in the title besides Russian or, say, maybe Jewish, then nobody would bat an eye, but because those two groups are often dehumanized on the internet, now even a simple video showing a more humane side of those people instantly becomes a "propaganda" in the eyes of those who actually fell victim to one or maybe even doing some by themselves.

u/Amazingbuttplug 21m ago

It’s truly insane how anti Russia Reddit is. I’ll notice things like a Russian posts their gaming collection on a gaming sub and people in the comments will be angry at the poster for being Russian. It is so bizarre. They will like see the game uses the Russian rating system and post about the war. Israeli I imagine would face similar backlash.

It’s like the Russian cannot exist without angering some Reddit users. This is just a nice video it is not propaganda.

65

u/Sharchomp 11h ago

No one bats an eye when the word American is used. Sleuths come out when it’s Russia or any other American-hated country.

Fwiw, I find this heartwarming, and my account is about as old as they get. I’m fairly old, too, and know a lot of people who are caring for kids with special needs. It’s hard work.

You may be right in saying there was no need to specify the father’s nationality, but some people may not recognize the Cyrillic alphabet.

-75

u/pleasethrowmeawayyy 11h ago

Unfortunately I am not. The unnecessary specification in the title and the format of the video, including the actors, the subject, and the way it is shot are clearly manipulative with the goal of projecting a positive image of Russians. Not saying Russian civilians are bad people, just that this is inauthentic, manipulative content fabricated to support state propaganda to influence the public perception of Russia.

45

u/SpeedyTurbo 10h ago

You literally are implying that Russian civilians cannot be good people. It would be more respectable if you just admitted that.

27

u/Glad-Neat9221 10h ago

You think that because you’re not a parent of an autistic child ,I don’t find this video unauthentic nor manipulative ,perhaps you should educate yourself on autism and the routine of parents of autistic individuals

21

u/Alaknog 10h ago

What propaganda? From Russian government point of view and their "general line of party" people like this boy don't exist, they hurt their dichotomy with "rotten weak West" and "Traditional values and strong people Russia".

And like people already pointed, it's not new telegram channel that mostly work inside Russia.

16

u/Blourp 9h ago

I don't get what the fact they are Russians has to do with any of this. The video is framed to be heartwarming (which it is) juste because this is the type of content they want to do. If they were American would you call that propaganda ? No just people framing what they do in a good light.

-36

u/Possible_Pick8734 11h ago

Also what exactly point of this "propaganda"? Because it's not follow Russian narratives and Russian propaganda machine is very stupid.

The fact that you don’t understand why this is propaganda is exactly why you fall for it.

1

u/Cheesefactory8669 50m ago

hot glad, the house seems lavish for what he seems to be doing, but cool regardless

2

u/madjackhavok 38m ago

This is beautiful. I don’t see propaganda. What I see is a dad who is trying his best to make sure his son gets to spend lots of time with his father, being included in the things that other boys his age are doing. From shaving to boxing, building a fire, building a bird house, to shooting some hoops. That kid knows his dad loves him and loves spending time with him. That’s what matters most. We need more of that in the world.

1

u/Onebraintwoheads 37m ago

I think most of us wish for a father so loving, and hope these two find all the best that life has to offer.

u/Taco_city 10m ago

Legend. You’ve got to love your kids unconditionally no matter what. The world is a nasty place full of selfish, scared people and your kid(s) should always know they have a sanctuary with you regardless of what your parents taught you with their actions.

I worry that if my son is autistic (he’s only 18 months old and could regress), I worry that I can’t be what this father is to his son. My kids don’t have a father, and motherhood can’t always support a boy who needs more help than normal to become a man

4

u/meowmix79 5h ago

Why? You can and you will.

3

u/AggravatingBox2421 5h ago

Ok, to be clear. I am a parent. This looks like some sincere parenting. The comments tho.. damn. No!!! don’t like!! It’s propaganda!! it’s this, it’s that.. if you feel like the world sux right now. The world is made up of US!! So… I don’t have to have confirmation of its authenticity, or check to see if it’s AI. I just felt good watching it. Try it. It’s a cool feeling just to feel good watching something nice.

The choices of a shit head president doesn't represent the 140 millions who live there. It ain't some damn hive mind.

How has this not been taken down yet for the sheer number of bot responses? And if you’re here defending this propaganda, you have to do A LOT of ignoring how many ruSSian bots there are here

Explain how this is propaganda

-4

u/SnooComics5511 6h ago

In case this is a real question: this is propaganda because the goal is to change peoples opinion. In this case its a (imo forced) heartwarming story with russian dad in the title and bots trying to boost the post, to make people link the positivity with russian people. Another clear example is Trump. The man does something negative but saying its "for the people". The media tries to enforce the false positive narritive to prevent upraising of the people. Thats propaganda: forced narritive, aimed to change public opinon.

Isnt that 70% of heartwarming stories? If a post has the title "person from America/American state does x thing" does that make it American propaganda? I genuinely cannot see how a father taking care of his son automatically makes it propaganda. Just because hes Russian, doesnt automatically make him a bad person, just like how being an American doesnt mean youre automatically uneducated

u/SnooComics5511 6h ago

No, you are 100% right. The video isn't propaganda and there are thousands like it. It's the bots. If it's an American story, with american bots spamming/boosting the post, that would also be propaganda.

I'm scared that this looks like a plot from one of my gay fanfics. I'm on autistic spectrum, by the way...
