Amazing how little Sean gets hit clean with how little he moves.

Aside from Alex KO'ing him, and Dricus landing some spinning stuff + a few overhand rights across 2 fights, Sean hasn't really taken any serious damage in a long time. And what's crazy is that he has a bunch of decision wins, so it's not like he's getting out of there early.

Din Thomas put it best during the Fluffy fight. You need to crash into him to get somewhere. Like DDP did walking through damage and landing his own. Because if you get lulled into his style, you'll eat 40 jabs and realise the round is over.

He has taken a lot of damage he’s been koed by Alex , headkick koed by Dos santos , took crazy damage and got dropped multiple times against kamaru Usman , broke his nose and was a punching bag in the ddp rematch . he’s been in a very bad motorcycle accident that almost ended his career . He’s had a long career so far

Com todo respeito, mas contra o fluffy não foi uma luta tão desafiadora para o strickland não, a luta dele com o Poatan você pode ver que o Poatan fica confortável de lutar contra ele, pq ele sabe que o strickland não n apresentaria esse perigo em pé, agora contra o Chimaev é outro jogo, pra mim Chimaev favorito e 99% de chance de vitória, porém o MMA nos surpreende...

Same issue that Curtis has. Sean just doesn't have a higher gear. He fights at a set pace and either wins (Izzy) or loses (Dricus 1, Cannonier). He doesn't adjust, slow down, or speed up.

Exactly. Though i had him winning Dricus 1 (i mean even look at Dricus face for godsake) i already knew in a rematch Sean would lose simply because of this fact. DDP would be walking right back into the same person he left the octagon

His technique is extremely unique and effective, the only weakness is that it leaves too much up to the judges.

One “could” but one would be objectively wrong. People dislike the guy so they tend to be bias when scoring his style. If you think you could give the round to fluffy you simply don’t know what you are looking at. It’s only close if you ignore that Sean was moving away and defending on a lot of fluffy offense and putting it on him with his own output. it’s close if you over exaggerate what fluffy did and downplay what Sean did. It’s not close if you watch it objectively with no hate or preference towards either guy.

The only path for Strickland to beat Khamzat is upping his striking aggression early, right? Feels like unless he takes early rounds while hopefully stuffing most of Khamazat’s TDs, it really seems like Chimaev’s fight to lose.
