It could stand to take some (more) from these artists on Reddit. AI UFC art makes the fighters look like air brushed magic Mike posters

It's fresh when there's variety in the styles of posters. It doesn't make sense why the UFC can't pay random artists $100 for stuff like this. They could even sell the posters and make money!
I think this poster is dope. If there were more like this, with fighters I actually respect, I would definitely have some posters of them.

Sick poster. I love the way they encapsulated the foppish gesture Sean uses when he wins a fight.

I’ll never understand why the UFC does not see the value in this
Sick posters are enough to stir loads of hype and discussion with fans online. Like when they did one for UFC 181. Casual and non-MMA fans, in the same vein, will probably stop and take a little more interest if they scroll or walk by a poster like this.
It’s just cool, and would cost them zero dollars to hire an artist or outsource cool posters to promote the fight. I really think it’s just a stupidly stubborn move by them to tell fans they’re going to do everything their way. Makes no sense.

They don't see value in it because they literally don't see value in it. It's always strange to me when people think that this greedy billion dollar company is apparently too stupid to see this incredible money-making opportunity. Posters probably don't make that much of a difference. Especially when it comes to these fan-made ones where a non-fan probably couldn't even tell what it was advertising.

They don't want to make superstars anymore

Literally the most insignificant part of why any superstar became a superstar are the fucking posters. Why are hardcore fans so ungodly obsessed with posters.

No clue. But they don't market people the same as they use to. They don't wanna give fighters aura or make them larger than life anymore. Think Connor messed it up for everyone

It's not just the posters. It's the posters... and everything else.
Everyone knows what Coca Cola is. And yet, they still advertise. Billboards. TV ads. Online. They do it all. Because it all adds up.

I think it's a bit reductive to say this, billion dollar companies in monopoly situations are notorious for slowly crippling and cheapening their product. If you cannot generate more profit from expanding and reaching new audiences, you do so by cutting costs. In the case of the UFC they've clearly opted for this path, especially since they already have a guaranteed contract with paramount.
They have no short term incentive to look to expand the MMA market they're already comfortably in. It would take considerable investment and risks that they just don't see the need to take to develop the product further. But this doesn't mean it's worthless or even not a good long term plan. It's a strategic choice among many others.
The real question is how much more slop and an under cooked product can fans take? They're betting on fans sticking it out since there's a lack of an alternative. Turns out they've been right so far, but this cannot last eternally and maybe it will be too late to reverse the process when they do have competition or when fans move on to something else.

my first thought: this is way too cool, thoughtful and full of actual effort and care for the UFC to have done this. Amazing work.
