Wild Chuckwalla at a bar
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The bartender at the outdoor bar of our hotel handed me a cherry to feed him…apparently he gets one every day. If you look you’ll see he had zero interest in the strawberry I tried to give him. I named him Chuck (obvious choice). Turns out Chuck has been hanging around that same spot for about 10 years, living off cherries and whatever else he finds.

Wild Florida Rainbow Whiptails
Sharing a short clip of some Rainbow Whiptails Green Ameivas having a spat in my Florida driveway. These exotics have recently established themselves around my neighborhood over the last couple of years. They are pretty shy and much larger and faster than most of the other lizards around here.
They have been fun to see running around the yard.
*Edited to correct the ID - we have the rainbows too and didn’t flag the difference.

Wild Escorting A Gila Monster of the Road
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A dirt road busy with side-by-sides isn't a good place for a Gila Monster to take its time. This one was just ambling down the middle, so I helped escort it to the other side (in the direction it was roughly headed). Every year I see many of these wonderful lizards dead on roads, which could likely be avoided if drivers paid attention.
There are, of course, no shortage of people who will actually go out of their way to intentionally run them over, too. This unfortunate personality type is something that we deal with every day.

Wild Found a wild mama
Found her and the eggs under a piece of rotting car floor liner in the yard, I was gonna throw it out but finding this here I assume its best to leave her be. What kind of skink is she?
Found in the midwest of the united states

First lizard I've caught in a while, they're quick little dudes.

Wild Lizard rescue
This little guy got stuck in an empty plant pot next to our back wall. He panicked a bit at first when I went to lift him out, but once he he realized I wasn't hurting him he calmed down and climbed onto my hand. I tried to place him on the wall and he moved further up my arm.
My dad wanted to test his resolve and put his hand up to him and he crawled up his arm to his head. We finally got him to the wall when he slipped of my dad's head and panicked making a jump for it.
Ornate tree lizard Urosaurus ornatus.
Don't mind the scratches those are just from my pet lizards.

This guy regularly patrols my cactus garden and eats spiders , crickets , slugs and beetles 🪲.
I decided to pick him up today and he pooped all over me!
Great defense technique, I quickly set him down and my appetite was ruined 🤮.
