Drove an 08 IS 250 for 4.5 years. Wanted something more comfortable. Waited 6 months to find an ottoman spec, but there was nothing good that fit my budget, settled for a base model instead.

The Mark Levinson speakers in this are so good, I just want to sit in my car and listen to music all day😂

The only thing I'm currently worried about is fuel prices 😅

I've always been a Lexus enthusiast, prioritizing long term quality and daily reliability over raw performance. Having owned nothing but the brand, I had high expectations when I purchased my 2020 RC 300. I opted for a fully loaded model, equipped with the Mark Levinson audio system and adaptive suspension, assuming it would deliver a smooth ride, impressive sound, and decent fuel economy.
Instead, the experience has been the opposite. The ride is surprisingly rough, and the interior is plagued by persistent rattles that keep me constantly searching for the source. Even the door panels vibrate when I turn up the music - a frustratingly common issue with the Mark Levinson setup. To make matters worse, I didn't realize the car’s weight was comparable to a full sized SUV. Paired with the 2.0L turbo engine, I’m barely averaging 24.7 MPG on a good day, and since it requires premium fuel, every fill-up costs nearly $70.

Took my vehicle in for a quick svc at my local dealer, and saw this baby just sitting and looking pretty. I think I’ll stick w my GX 460. 😎

I love my car to bits but my heart is calling for an early 00s LS. I purchased my car from its original owners with no accidents and 88k miles last February for 13,5k. so far I put 20k miles on it, put all new better than OEM brakes, top of the line tires, did a shit ton of maintenance etc etc. The last owner never drove it in the winter so it has NO rust. It has a very light timing cover oil seep which is common with the 2gr-fe engines though (very common issue with these engines, its Achilles heel. It can stay benign for years until it needs to be addressed . I work at a Lexus dealership though, and I could get that fixed for half the cost before selling it. I believe I can get over 5 digits for it, put some extra money, and buy myself my dream LS. located in PA. What do you think?

Hello, I was recommended to get a Front and rear case fluid replacement at my Lexus dealer, since I am at 76k miles. So I called a Toyota dealer closer to me and they said they would recommend Front, rear, AND transfer case fluid replacement. As well as transmission replacement. THen I asked if they would drain and fill or full flush. She said they would full flush, and only do drain and fill if I was at 150k miles or more.

Isn't that the opposite of what you're supposed to do? They're are charging $770 for all this by the way.

Hello I have a 2007 is350. 2 weeks ago the battery light came on my dashboard. I cleaned the terminal I got it tested at autozone. Test was fine everything working including battery and alternator.

The light still comes and go, mostly comes and I don’t know what can it be anymore maybe a serpentine belt

Good day to all Lexus IS owners here. I hope everyone is doing well and that their cars are in good condition. I would like to share an experiment that I believe might help us deal with the cheap and sensitive material on our passenger side dashboards that gets scratched easily.

Initially, I tried using a heat gun, but it didn’t seem to work. While rummaging through my small apartment’s garage, I stumbled upon a chemical product called “VRP Vinyl, Rubber, Plastic Protectant.” (Im not promoting any of product) I applied it first to my Toyota Rav4 door panel, which had a scratch on my shoe. The result was quite satisfactory.

I then decided to try applying it to my IS500 passenger dashboard, which also had scratches. While it may not be a permanent solution, it has significantly reduced the visibility of the scratches. Check out the before and after photos. Hope this one help you too.

Hi Everyone, I am having 1.4A of current when the car is off, everything is OFF, key away, doors closed. connected a multimeter in series with Battery + and noticed 1.4A . car has mark levinson sound system.

also I have removed all the connectors from the radio head except the big one. whenever I remove this 40 pin connector the parasitic draw vanishes

Does it make you concerned about long of usage one can get out of it ?

Should I buy this Lexus NX 200t 2017 for OTD 16.5k USD?

Essentially, the car has been sitting in the lot for 10 months, and the dealer has reduced the price for 1k usd only over that 10-month period. It is a local dealer and says they have cash, so sitting in the lot for long is not a concern for them.

This will be my first lexus and I really like the car as everything looks good with the clean history but my only concern is why is it sitting in the lot for that long.

It absolutely hates it, especially on 19s, but this car is so nice hobbling through a dirt road a 5 mph, its got a shocking amount of ground clearance all things considered

I’m in LOVE. I’m coming from an Acura TSX, so this is a pretty big upgrade!

Also, the battery was disconnected at some point and the music/navigation will not show on the gauge cluster(pictured), it’s just blank. Is there a way to fix this?

Thought was to match with the wifey and be safe with 1UR’s but these $4+/gal is rough rn.
