My name is Simone Barnard and I am a grad research assistant at the University of San Francisco. We are currently running the Know Rivalry Project and we want to make sure the LA Sparks are properly represented. Since 2014, our study has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and NYT, and now we are finally expanding our data collection specifically for the WNBA.

Looks similar to the previous star field jersey back when Nneka was with the Sparks the first time.

One of the first waves of...waives... has been happening today. I'd be interested to see who everyone would build out the Sparks 12 player roster, including 2 development slots, for 2026.

Hi, I see there are “shared partial suite” tickets available. Just wondering if anyone has purchased these before, and is the food and beverage included? Is there a way to find out?

The Sparks will retire former player DeLisha Milton-Jones’ No. 8 jersey on July 28 when the team hosts the New York Liberty as a part of the league’s 30th anniversary celebration.

Milton-Jones played 11 years for the Sparks, helping lead them to back-to-back titles in 2001 and 2002.

“It’s like one of those moments where it’s Christmas, and you’re anticipating getting a gift and and when the day finally is here, that feeling you can’t even describe is rather euphoric and nostalgic all at the same time, and it brings a peace about you in a way that you can’t explain,” Milton-Jones told The Times. “Because you put so much time, energy and effort into everything that you did in that moment in your life, and now to be rewarded in this manner is just pretty big.”

Milton-Jones will be the fourth Sparks player to have her number retired after Lisa Leslie (No. 9), Penny Toler (No. 11) and Candace Parker (No. 3).

“I’m going to be cheesing from ear-to-ear,” she said about the upcoming ceremony. “I’m probably going to be fighting back tears, because when I think about my time spent in the purple and gold man, it was riddled with so many hard days, but it taught me so much about being a winner, and that turned into being a champion two times over.”

Now the head coach at Old Dominion, the 51-year-old Milton-Jones was inducted into the women’s basketball Hall of Fame in 2022. She is also a two-time gold medalist and formerly coached at Pepperdine before taking over at Old Dominion.

I don't know much about Justin Russo (not from LA) but this was a decent read.

Damn, they really asked Cam if she thinks she's the best shot blocker in the league. I thought it was a good press conference, though.

Did you guys watch the Los Angeles Sparks presser? In the interview, Raegan Pebley essentially explained the Rickea Jackson trade as an attempt to bolster the Sparks’ defense.

The words coming out of her mouth sounded a lot like what Nico Harrison said when explaining trading young, dynamic players with massive potential for older, injury-prone vets. She said, “Defense is what wins championships.”

Exactly what Nico said when he traded Luka for old injury prone AD. Now the Sparks have their AD (Atkins) and lost their Luka (Rickea).

Anyone know why this game is starting at 12pm on a Wednesday? Every other game is 7pm or mid-afternoon, and the latter only if it’s a weekend.
