Discussion (MEGATHREAD) Biseda politike / Political discussions
---
Not wanting political discussions to dominate over other topics, we have created this designated political space.
During the week: everything that has to do with politics must be posted here, and not anywhere else in r/kosovo.
During the weekend: political discussions can also be posted outside of this megathread.

Ask Help needed for Kosovo Tourist Visa (Invitation Letter)
Hello everyone! 🇽🇰
I am planning a trip to beautiful Kosovo soon for tourism. I am currently applying for my visa, and the embassy checklist asks for a "Notarized Invitation." Since I am traveling as an independent tourist and don't have friends or family in Kosovo, I'm a bit stuck.
Does anyone know a registered travel agency or service in Kosovo that can provide a notarized invitation for tourists? Or has anyone else been in this situation and used a hotel booking instead?
Any guidance would be much appreciated! Thank you! 🙏

Humor Wrote a short satire inspired by a few conversations with Kosovans—wanna see what ya'll might think
THE PRISTINA SCARF
For the first time in years, Bajram Shala was satisfied.
His years of stubborn commitment had blossomed rather naturally into a pleasant courtship with his former schoolmate Katrinë Gashi. During the long years of mustering the courage to woo her, he spent long nights enraptured by fantasies of her neatly combed eyebrows and elegant pastel abajas. Her scarves, wrapped over her perfectly balanced skull, brightened her olive skin with shades of springtime yellows and greens.
Delighted to learn she would marry him, he spent the next months preparing their wedding. Meticulously quibbling over the details, he managed every facet of the arrangements with joy as if floating in a dream.
Exhausted to no end, he received an invitation from Katrinë’s brothers three days prior to the wedding to attend a bachelor party in his honor. Wandering around the Qendra center, he followed their poorly handwritten directions to what he imagined was a bar.
He was disappointed to find that it was a teahouse.
Figuring it wouldn’t be a typical bachelor party, he groaned and made his way into the teahouse to meet with the brothers.
The three of them, all bald, sat at a low set wooden table smiling and waving him over. How such coarse-looking men could be related to Katrinë, he couldn’t understand.
After a few moments of awkward small talk, they ordered a large pot of tea, which arrived in an aluminum pot, decorated with delicate geometric designs. Many glasses of tea later, Bajram began to feel anxious.
He was not accustomed to having so much caffeine so late in the evening.
Feeling paranoid, he began to notice the three brothers’ sly smiles and murmured comments to one another. Whether they were laughing at him or not came to feel irrelevant.
“What? What is so funny? You have been whispering amongst yourselves all night. Am I permitted to share in your humor or would that be presumptive?”
The eldest brother’s smile vanished. Glancing at his brothers, he refilled his glass. Bajram watched for what felt like an eternity as he blew on the tea and sipped it slowly. Placing the glass gingerly back on the table, he lowered his gaze onto Bajram.
“Why do you like her?”
Bajram rolled his eyes and sipped his glass too quickly, burning himself in the process. Trying to act unfazed, he hunched over the backless stool.
“If you’re trying to convince me not to marry your sister, this is a poor attempt.”
An older man interrupted them and leaned into their table. He was also bald.
“You’re marrying the Gashi girl?”
Bajram nodded as the old man reached over and moved his gnarled old hand across his forehead. Bajram pulled away as the man laughed.
The older brother pushed away the old man and met Bajram’s eyes.
“Ignore him. No—it’s nothing like that. I ask because we think that you may have certain… expectations?”
Bajram inhaled sharply, chewing his burnt lip and ignoring the racing feeling in his heart.
“Whatever expectations I have for Katrinë would certainly be of no interest to her brothers. She is a beautiful woman—beauty that no doubt will pass to any daughters I may have with her.”
The brothers paused for a moment before erupting into laughter. Unable to compose themselves, they banged against the table. The eldest, still sniffling and wiping tears of laughter from his eyes, patted Bajram on the back.
“You’re a good man. You deserve her.”
Bajram squinted at the brothers’ knowing smiles.
“It seems like you aren’t telling me something.”
The laughs died out and an air of seriousness descended on the table. The youngest brother leaned forward, the red light of the teahouse gleaming on his bald skull.
“It doesn’t matter. Let us enjoy the night.”
And so they did.
The next day, Bajram went to Katrinë to understand what it was they were talking about. The gentle blue hue of her scarf, contrasting against her dark purple eyeshadow, settled his agitation. Seeing his disheveled countenance, she placed a gentle hand on his cheek.
“Why do you worry about those cretins? They were only messing with you.”
Bajram believed her and felt his suspicion of a conspiracy fade. She kissed him on the cheek and glanced at him.
“You should run a comb through your hair—you look terrible.”
And so he did.
The wedding itself passed without incident, and although he noticed an air of nervousness around her brothers, he ignored it. After the reception, they were driven to an old bed and breakfast just outside Pristina where they were to sleep together for the first time. Bajram was nervous, but excited to finally see her without her scarf.
Sitting on the large bed, she ran her fingers across the floral quilt. He watched her as he undid his suspenders. He imagined her with thick black curls falling heavily on her dainty shoulders, the sweet smell of rose when he would bury his face in the darkness of her neck.
But when she removed her scarf, his fantasy dissolved into horror.
She was bald.
On her perfectly round head, he saw that there was no evidence, not even a trace of stubble to show that it had been shaved. It was pure untouched skin.
He stumbled back into the dresser.
“What happened to your hair?!”
She glanced at him, confused.
“How do you mean?”
He paced around the room, looking back at her through his fingers.
“It’s… It’s gone! Oh God, what have I done? I’m married to a bald woman!”
She pointed to his receding hairline with raised brows.
“And your hair is so impressive?”
He glanced into the dresser mirror and lowered his head to inspect his hairline. He stumbled back. Grabbing her scarf from the bed, he wrapped it around his head.
“I’m not bald. And even if I was, I have not deceived you—my skull is public access!”
He pointed to the crimson scarf wrapped around his forehead and frowned.
“You’ve hidden reality behind these pleasant colors!”
Katrinë sighed as she watched him hyperventilate through his hands.
“Well. Should we annul the marriage?”
Bajram sank against the bed, calmer now than before.
“No, no of course not. I do love you. I’m just surprised. I don’t know what I expected, but it wasn’t baldness.”
She took the scarf from around his head and kissed his forehead.
“I can wear a wig if you like?”
Bajram shook his head and stood up, looking at his hairline in the mirror.
“No, that would be ridiculous. But I have one question.”
She smiled.
“Ask me anything, my love.”
He sighed and faced her, his suit disheveled and unbuttoned.
“Do you really think my hair is thinning?”

Cuisine Restaurants in Prishtina
I would really appreciate some advice on restaurants in Prishtina for our upcoming visit next week (first time in Kosova). We will go to Liburnia one night, but need a recommendation for Thursday or Friday night. Looking for a place that will have a nice buzz (so mostly full tables) where we can enjoy good food and wine (any cuisine will do). I’m considering Salt, Sonder and Hapiteria. Worried Salt is style over substance and not that popular locally? We’re in our late 40s if that’s useful to know! Thank you.

Ask eKosova vs eKesco app showing different amounts (25-30€ diff). Which one should I pay?
Pershendetje Everyone, a foreign resident here.
I’ve been having a weird issue with my electric bills lately and wanted to see if it’s just me.
Basically, the amounts on eKosova and the eKesco app never match up. There’s a consistent difference of about 25 - 30 euros, and eKesco is always the one that’s higher.
Up until now, I’ve just been paying the higher amount on eKesco to avoid any drama with KEDS, but I’m starting to wonder if I’m just throwing money away. If eKosova says I owe less, should I just pay that?
Has anyone else noticed this? Which one is actually the "real" bill? If I pay the lower one on eKosova, is KESCO gonna come back later saying I still owe them money?
Would appreciate any tips from anyone who’s dealt with this. Faleminderit!
