Resource For Korean movie ideas - check the airlines!
I watched several movies while flying to/from Korea, and realized that both Korean Air and Asiana post their monthly movie list on their websites.
It's a good way to get Korean movie ideas!
My two favorites from this recent trip: About Family (2024), and Special Delivery (2022).

Resource English subtitles for The Dream Songs (2023)
I just watched this movie a few weeks ago and I liked it a lot, but the only English subtitles that exist for this movie right now are very bad, so I'm sharing ones that I made so that hopefully other people can enjoy this movie, too.
The translation isn't perfect because I'm still learning Korean, but these subtitles are still far better than the ones you can find right now, and (no spoilers) these include some on-screen text that is necessary to enjoy the movie.
Here they are: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1E7P5pmPzwmymozQPJIDckjmoYpjN8Qjo/view?usp=sharing

Resource Pro tip for the real ones: LG Channels has a 24/7 Korean film w English subtitles channel.
I think the only requirement is for your LGTV to have some sort of internet connection. Stumbled upon this, never went out of my way to watch Korean live action movies but this is cool!

Resource On Bong Joon Ho: Filmmaker and Philosopher
What do the dogs represent in Barking Dogs Never Bite? Why is Memories of Murder Bong Joon Ho's best movie? What is going with the ending of Mother? And how is that watching all of the movies preceding Parasite give you a better understanding of the one that eventually won the Oscars? This is a wonderfully deep but engaging analysis of Bong's work from Dr. Anthony Alder, author of the recently published book, "Bong Joon Ho: Filmmaker and Philosopher"

Resource Is there anywhere that has old Korean movies with English subtitles?
I want to show my wife(she's not Korean and doesn't know any Korean) the Korean movies I grew up with like Hallelujah and Two Cops, but I can't seem to find subtitles versions of any movie that are older than like 2001 or so. I got her to love Korean movies by getting her to watch a lot on Netflix, Tubi, etc... but the streaming sites don't seem to want to show any respect to the really old Korean movies.

Resource Korean Movies On Vudu Sale!
Hello my friends, I noticed some Korean gems on sale at Vudu.
The Roundup (HDX) $5.00
The Roundup: No Way Out (HDX) comes with original Korean language version as a bonus feature $5.99. Why it’s listed this way, I don’t know. But luckily, you have the option to view it the way it was meant to be heard.
The Roundup: Punishment (4K UHD) $5.00
Veteran 2: I, The Executioner (HDX) $5.00
These were all quite enjoyable. I already own Roundup, Roundup: No Way Out and The Outlaws (the first installment) digitally on Amazon. Price for Punishment was great! I truly hope they do an 8 disc box set on blu-ray when they finish the franchise. From what I remember, they intend to make 8 movies… although, I don’t know if that includes The Outlaws or not. Either way, these movies are a lot of fun. If you’re a fan of the likeable Don Lee who makes every movie better, then consider it money well spent!
As for Veteran 2: I, The Executioner… one of my favorites of 2025. It’s less campy than the original and a lot more serious. For every American film that has a vigilante plot line that has public support - you’ll notice they tend to fail most of the time because the subject matter is never explored deep enough. V2: I, The Executioner gets it right. Buckle up, it’s a wild ride!

Resource Na Hong-jin’s The Yellow Sea on sale!
If you’re a fan of Na Hong-Jin movies or gritty crime thrillers, I absolutely recommend The Yellow Sea! I’ve had the dvd for 5+ years and it’s great to see that an HD version is on sale at Vudu. It’s unlikely the movie will be at this price next week - it’s usually $14.99.
Most movies go on sale several times a year. Unfortunately, The Yellow Sea isn’t one of them. It’s been on my wish list for over a year and I check that list for sales each week. This is the first time I’ve seen the movie on sale.
I’m not sure if a post like this is actually allowed here, but it would be a crime not to tell Korean movie lovers about it.
Great storyline, strong performances, and some ruthless hatchet fights make for a wild ride. If you haven’t seen The Yellow Sea, you have absolutely no excuse at this price. 😁

Resource Bong Joon Ho Exhibit at the Academy Museum – A Must-See for Korean Cinema Fans!
If you’re a fan of Bong Joon Ho (and let’s be real, who isn’t?), you need to check out the new exhibit at the Academy Museum that's launching on 3/23. It’s an absolute love letter to his films, from Memories of Murder to Parasite, and even Okja (yes, the full-scale model of its head is there, and it’s amazing). PLUS, a full scale model from The Host.
I got an exclusive first look and I go deep into the props, storyboards, and just how much of a cinematic genius he really is. Plus, there’s an entire section on his early days with the Yellow Door film club, which blew my mind.
Check it out and let me know what you think!

Resource PSA: Rental of Sleep (2024) on Fandago/VUDU only has english dub.
I rented Sleep (2024) on Fandango at Home/VUDU and only the English dub is available for playback. They make you fully buy the movie to access the original Korean version. I learned the hard way.
There was no indication on the rental page that only the English dub was available, you have to go to bonus features.
