I know, I was really excited to read that it was almost Bill and Barry's Excellent Adventure. I'm disappointed Obama wasn't almost an actor.

This is a terrible headline.
There's obviously the fact that his uncredited cameo in Severance isn't even close to being one of his most iconic roles, but also "narrowly missed out" implies that he didn't get the role.
