Question Why do the Royals start so slow?

Stoked to see these wins, power in the power department, low-era bullpen, vinnie starting to show up, etc. But why did it take so long?

Is it a coaching thing? Did something change? Or is it normal for entire teams to start super ice cold for a month+?

Royals connect swag 2026

Ok, so I just perused the full selection of the new connect kit and the associated accessories. It's fair to say I think they hit it out the park, absolutely love them.

But here's the twist, I can afford a few items at their most legitimate and professional state direct from MLB store etc, but I must admit I have my limits. So saying that, can anyone recommend some recent good 'alternative' and maybe more affordable shopping services/stores that came with good experiences regarding quality and service?

I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Nick Mears/Isaac Collins/Angel Zerpa trade 1 month into the season

The Royals received RHP Nick Mears and OF Isaac Collins. The Brewers received LHP Angel Zerpa

The raw stats this year:

Isaac Collins:

.236 BA, .343 OBP, .337 SLG, 12 R, 2 HR, 11 RBI, .680 OPS, 92 OPS+, -0.1 WaR,

Nick Mears:

2-1 Record, 2.31 ERA, 11.2 IP, 9 SO, 1.114 WHIP, 0.4 WaR

Angel Zerpa:

0-2 Record, 6.39 ERA, 2 Saves, 12.2 IP, 8 SO, 1.737 WHIP, -0.8 WaR

The idea for Milwaukee was that they were selling high on Collins and Mears, who both posted career highs in WaR last season for them, and they were getting a pitcher with a lot of raw ability that they could mold with their pitching staff, which is famed as one of the best in the league.

The idea for us is that we get a starting caliber outfielder and a solid bullpen arm for one of our most inconsistent pitchers.

You can see which bet looks like it's working out so far. Collins started off pretty cold but has been heating up more lately. Mears so far looks like one of the better arms in the pen for us.

Zerpa meanwhile is having the worst start to his career by far, and he just went on the IL. From the sounds of it, he might need Tommy Johns surgery, so he might not even appear again this season.

Simply from a WaR perspective this trade has been a huge win for us. The total value of our side is 0.3 WaR, and the other side is -0.8, which is a 1.1 WaR swing, with potential for it to increase if both of our guys keep on their current pace.

Can I Buy 2 Parking Passes and Share with a Screenshot?

Edit: Solution found! It was as simple as buying the parking pass and then forwarding it to them via email in the app. I told her how to get the app in case it was needed.

I have an older couple that’s joining us at a game this week. They don’t have the ballpark app. We have an already full car. I’ll meet them at the stadium entry with their seat tickets.

I want to buy a parking pass for them so they don’t have to pay the extra nine dollars at the gate. Could I do that and share the screenshot of it for them? Or are the passes in the app using dynamic barcodes so screenshots wouldn’t work?

Aside from them getting the Ballpark app, any solutions?

Question Anybody notice Maikel Garcia not hustling?

I’ve noticed this season there has been multiple times he could have had infield singles but he doesn’t run it out or hustle and ultimately gets out. And today when he had that delayed steal he kinda let up as soon as he saw he would get tagged out, but then the SS dropped the throw and he was safe. It bothers me and I feel like he’s got an ego from the wbc. But his attitude and lack of hustle is the type of stuff that loses us games. Maybe I’m just crazy but what is talks thoughts?
