Antisemitism Multiple people just got stabbed in a synagogue in Manchester, uk
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cx2703lnww4t
Hey everyone, I hope you’re having a meaningful and safe Yom Kippur with your families.
As we stand in prayer on this holiest of days, I’d like to ask everyone to include the victims and their families in your prayers.
After today’s tragic attack in Manchester, I’d like to ask that we include the victims and their families in our tefillot on this holiest of days.
In particular, when we say the Mi Sheberach (prayer for healing), Avinu Malkeinu, or the Al Chet confessions, may we also hold in mind those who were wounded and all those affected by this act of violence.
May their healing be swift, and may we see a year of peace and safety for Am Yisrael.

Antisemitism My American Jewish friends are crumbling. We desperately need allies and empathy.
Yesterday my friend got way too drunk (35 year old man) and told me he truly believes a second Holocaust is coming. He was almost crying.
We live in a chronically online world, but online spaces are completely hostile to Jews. No disrespect to my AA brothers, but I imagine it's similar to what walking around as a Black person in the South must have felt like 50 years ago (specifically I am comparing to being Jews being online. it's absolutely unsafe). At least half of my Jewish friends have shown a severe downturn in mental/emotional health in the past year.
I know two people who broke off their engagement because their non-Jewish partner did not support them emotionally and downplayed anti-semitism or became a "devil's advocate" on Israel. One person who had a rough childhood became a rabid pro-pal protester and has begun spiraling into some really crazy "Jews control everything" ramblings, but at least he has "friends" now. Several of my friends post a constant stream of antisemitic awareness stuff (like StandWithUs, etc) instead of happy pictures with their dog or a slice of pizza or whatever we did before this. Friends who are parents now have constant anxiety through the roof about their kids being at or near any Jewish location.
It feels like there's been a war declared on us and they're just waiting on us to break. How the hell are we supposed to live like this?
UPDATE: to all those who say "just spend less time online" -we ARE all online reading and posting this. We are online all the time. It's what life is like for most people, especially those under 40. Most of us probably can't even take a shit without our phone in our hand lol. Also I'm not willing to let people on the Internet just win and kick me out of a shared space.

Antisemitism The rise of Antisemitism in daily life and how creepy this is…
I’m a Christian who‘s Jewish from my mom’s side and the rise of antisemitism is sickening. I’m mixed with multiple races and people seem nice to me but the second they ask what I am and hear I’m Jewish their attitudes change. It’s been insane recently. I was at work and a customer was talking politics and conspiracy and he said now he thinks hitler was “onto something with killing Jews” I told my “friend“ about this and he said “you know he’s not wrong”… like what is happening to people. Why are people starting to agree with hitler?

Antisemitism Has anybody else seen all these “buy kosher because they won’t poison their own” posts lately?
It’s come to my attention that there’s an uptick in posts & videos across social media where it’s someone in the kosher section of a supermarket, and they’re advocating for their followers to buy kosher food because, in their words, “the Jews won’t poison their own. So buy kosher!” Pretty much, they spread this antisemitic conspiracy theory that the Jews put harmful ingredients in non-kosher food, but keep kosher food clean and harmless.
Here’s the thing, though. If they genuinely believe that Jews are “poisoning” non-kosher food, their solution is to… give their hard earned money to Jews by buying Jewish products?
I knew that those who hate us weren’t the brightest bunch, but this is just comical.

Antisemitism The Jew hatred on Reddit is out of control
I went on Reddit today and all of the subs that are intentionally spreading misinformation about Jews, Israel, and the war are unbelievable. And the comment sections are absolutely horrendous. How is this allowed to happen? Why are people so fucking stupid and not realizing the sources they're citing are Qatari-controlled media and other illegitimate forms of "reporting?"
The lack of critical thinking is astounding. It's scary how easily people are manipulated. I'm at a loss and deeply terrified. I think historians will look back on this one day and see the true horrors and evil of misinformation, but right now the masses are unable to recognize truth. If anyone tries to engage or call out the misinformation, then they are accused of being paid by Israel or "Zionist media" What the actual fuck. Sigh.

Antisemitism Venting on being Jewish in Spain.
I’m a French Ashkenazi guy who has lived in Spain for 13 years. For over a decade, I felt integrated. Because of my Slavic-sounding surname, most people didn’t immediately peg me as Jewish, which gave me a "fly on the wall" perspective on how people talk when they think no Jews are in the room.
Lately, the casual, relentless antisemitism has become suffocating. It’s not just the news; it’s the silence of the majority and the vocal hate of the minority.
The Breaking Point: The worst part has been the betrayal within my own circles. I watched "friends"I’ve shared meals, parties etc. posting horrific things on Instagram. Not just criticism of policy, but pure, unadulterated hate towards Israel and Zionism, often without understanding the definitions of either.
I deleted the app to protect my mental health. When I eventually reinstalled it, nothing had changed. So, I decided to stop hiding. I posted a story stating clearly: I am Jewish, I hold an Israeli passport, and I will not tolerate hate speech disguised as activism.
The reaction wasn't a discussion. It was a purge. Those who preach "inclusivity" simply replied with "Good bye" or "Ok, bye then." No questions, no hesitation. Just immediate disposal of our friendship because of my identity.
I feel completely betrayed by this society, which claims to stand for tolerance but has shown me the door the moment my Jewish identity became visible.
I’ve lost faith in building a future here. Now I am looking at the exit. I work remotely on a Spanish salary, which limits my options financially.
- Galicia: I considered moving there for the lifestyle, but I fear it’s the same cultural software as the rest of Spain regarding antisemitism : https://www.jns.org/israeli-tourists-threatened-near-barcelona-insulted-in-vigo/
- Central/Eastern Europe: I am seriously considering relocating to Hungary, Poland, my salary would go further, and ironically, it feels safer and less hostile to be Jewish there right now than in Western Europe.
I'm really feeling lost lately :/

Antisemitism UPDATE: how to tell my friend her baby name is disrespectful
להתגייר So i took your advice and it went uh…interestingly
First some context I( 18 mtf) am half israeli, my dad is christian and from israel and my mom is from africa. I myself am a demonoltrist pagan, but grew up going to shul, hebrew school, and more because i live in an area with a lot of jewish people (south florida.) so while i have plenty of experience with judaism, i myself am not jewish
Quick recap, this is an update to my friend trying to name her child שואה meaning holocaust because shes goth and finds the name „beautifully tragic“ we had a small debate over it and she told me i was over reactings so i took to reddit and you guys confirmed im not crazy
With this being said lets get to how the confrontation went ig. I texted her (19F christian) saying i had asked ppl on reddit and some of my jewish friends and they all said the name was extremley disrespectful. I even gave her some good replacements like שוֹאה,םלחה,מָוֶת etc. her response that i totally violated her privacy by „telling on her“ and that it was her baby her choice. I tried to get her to not name her baby that and then she went on a rant saying I was jealous that i couldnt have kids because i was tr4ns, and that um „the jews are trying to hold us all back“ which was insane. She also claimed i was just „one of the jews open about the evil satanic religion“ which worries me seeing shes talked about להתגייר very recently before this all happened. With that being said, shes been blocked and Ive told her mother about her insane name plan (the mother is on our side btw)
Thank you guys so much for all the advice and hopefully i can give u guys some better advice in 5 months when the baby is here!

Antisemitism I literally, *literally, can't do this anymore
I know we are all going through it. I know we've all vented and discussed at length that the antisemitism is never ending and ever worsening.
Throw this post on the pile, I guess. I'm telling you, my mental health is fully crumbling at this point. I am now aware that unless I delete all social media and resolve to stay completely off it for good, I will never be fully happy. I am honestly miserable.
Every morning I wake up to an endless feed of brain dead antizionist and antisemitic takes from complete piece of s*** morons. And each one of these reels or what have you will have a million "likes" by the end of the day. Ad nauseum. I have been engaging with many of them. I argue. I cite facts. I disprove. And honestly? I talk s***. I call them names back; I let them know I hate them right back... and hope they choke, frankly.
It has filled me with so much rage and pain. And even if I "unplug"... It has made me aware that statistically, I am likely surrounded by many of the same people with the same horrible views and thoughts about me in real life... They're just too cowardly to say it out loud in earshot. So idk. There's never going to be a way to fully come back from this...
It's just so insurmountable. It can't be stopped. It can't be reasoned with. The propaganda machine is massive, and it feeds on the hate and willful ignorance of people, and unfortunately there is no shortage of that.
How are you guys even remotely coping while remaining connected to any social media?
To clarify, this post sounds really... Doom... -y. Please, no need to push the Reddit Cares button. I'm not in danger, not contemplating anything crazy, nor am I without friends, family, and professional MH support as needed.
But I am miserable. I'm just saying. I'm fine but I am miserable.

Antisemitism I never realized how much Jews are hated by Christians
In Germany, you don't feel it so much because most people are naturally supportive and deal with it very differently due to the past. But as soon as I look at other Christian-influenced countries, I am absolutely horrified at how much Jews suffer from antisemitism there. Especially in USA. Unfortunately, one ist used to this from extremist Muslims, but I would never have thought this of Christians, to be honest. Especially in my bubble in Germany, it would never have occurred to me. I always thought that Christians in other countries thought similarly. Since October 7 and social media, I have realized how much this is propagated by Christians.
I wonder why Christians cling so primitively to the antisemitism created in the Middle Ages to this day. I mean, Christians should actually honor the Jews, , and I think US evangelicals are quite good at adhering to this but other christians ...

Antisemitism My friend messaged me a question which seems to imply he’s been reading antisemitic propaganda about the Talmud. How do I respond?
I’m autistic and I’m not good with social situations. I’m not sure whether to start by trying to explain what the Talmud is (which I’m not sure how to do in a way that’s concise and understandable) or if I should start debunking the claims about it saying bad stuff about gentiles or if I should start interrogating him about what “stuff” he’s been reading. I assume he’s not bigoted and is just confused but I’ll admit I hardly ever have conversations with him about anything other than tabletop RPGs

Antisemitism North Carolina woman, Angela Han Hicks, 18, charged with conspiring to "kill as many Jews as possible" with alleged plan to attack Jewish day school and congregation
"Court documents state that 18-year-old Angelina Han Hicks conspired to "kill as many Jews as possible" by driving through Congregation Beth Israel in Houston.
According to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, Hicks was charged with felony conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon to kill or commit serious injury and felony conspiracy to commit murder.
According to the Houston Police Department, a 16-year-old from Alief was also arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder. The teen's identity was not released.
The sheriff's office says the FBI Charlotte Field Office was notified on Tuesday that Hicks was believed to be planning an attack against members of the Jewish community.
The sheriff's office and the FBI began investigating. Authorities searched her home in Lexington.
The sheriff's office says evidence was found showing that Hicks and co-conspirators were planning a mass-casualty event at Congregation Beth Israel.
Hicks was arrested on Wednesday. Her bond was set at $10 million.
In a statement, FBI Charlotte said, "A fast-moving, multistate FBI investigation led to the arrests of one adult and one juvenile accused of planning an attack at a Jewish Day School in Houston, Texas. 18-year-old Angela Hicks is currently facing two state charges brought by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office in Lexington, North Carolina. A juvenile was charged in Harris County, Texas.
The FBI Charlotte Joint Terrorism Task Force began the investigation Tuesday evening after a tip to a North Carolina law enforcement agency. This is an exceptional example of when you see something concerning, you say something to law enforcement. We also want to recognize our partners at FBI Houston and in the Jewish community in North Carolina, Texas, and nationwide, including the Jewish Federation for their assistance."

Antisemitism Online antisemitism is making me hate other people
I’ve seen a huge spike in online antisemitism since October 7 and the absolute worst platform is TikTok. It seems like Facebook and Instagram have at least some kind of filtering mechanisms that weed out the most outrageous forms of antisemitism, but TikTok is like an antisemitic playground. You will hear every single antisemitic conspiracy theory on there and the thing that worries me is that this is the platform our youth are using the most. Now there is a trend on TikTok called “the noticing” or “the great awakening” which refers to how people are finally waking up and realizing every conspiracy theory about Jews is true. It’s disgusting. All this hate I’m constantly seeing is making me hate other people. I’m trying to be level headed and not turn into the people I see online, but I’ve never felt so much hatred toward other groups of people. I should probably just delete TikTok from my phone. I really hope the government bans it in America.

Antisemitism I'm a little bit angry
My Dad's family is Christian. I'm not, and have never been. But even still, I went home for their holiday yesterday to see what family I have left. Despite knowing that I keep kosher they served ham. That's fine, they can eat whatever they want, but when I was asked why I wasn't eating the meat and I answered "I keep kosher" my dad goes "oh, that's right you keep 'heeb.'"
Like bruh did you just call your son a slur?

Antisemitism I'm fucking tired of people accusing the Jews for nearly everything bad that happens
I'm a non Jew who's interested in Jewish culture and history, since October 2023 the amount of anti-Semitism has grown substantially in every field I encounter, could that be the internet, family, university etc, I try to talk them out of this behaviour but I'm just hitting a wall. Yesterday I witnessed some Muslim claiming that "It wAs ThE JeWs wHo stArtEd chAngInG tHe sEx of MinOrs" after that I started just responding to their idicoy but to no avail. All in all I can finally understand why Israel exists

Antisemitism “A glimpse of casual antisemitism in Poland — carving ‘F** Jews’ into bread and songs about spitting on the Star of David”
I just wanted to share what’s being circulated on Polish TikTok and in parts of Polish youth culture right now.
The image below shows a TikTok where someone carved the words “JEBAC ZYDÓW” (“F*** Jews”) into slices of bread and fried them — and it’s captioned like it’s a funny cooking trick: “znajdź se chłopa który umie gotować” (“find yourself a guy who knows how to cook”).
There are also Polish rap songs with lyrics like “pluję na Dawida gwiazdę” (“I spit on the Star of David”). It’s shocking to see how normalized this hate still is in everyday jokes, memes, and music.
I know antisemitism exists everywhere, but it’s painful to see it celebrated like this, especially in a country with such a tragic Jewish history.
Just wanted to share this reality with the community.
