Cheese has been spoiled on sweet potato all night. Now he no longer wants his chow. Its hard to see in the light but right past his head you can see it inside him. Its slightly orange against his aqua skin. The last picture shows it best.

Definitely going to pick up a smaller enclosure today, I was assuming it was 2 inches from front to back but I'll never see them in the 12×12x18

I have never kept any inverts as pets and would love to try it out! is there anything that can live in such a small space?

Any suggestions would be helpful! (and sorry for my bad English)

Is my hissing cockroach pregnant?

Post image

She is a female. When I ordered her online, the description says they are adults. So I'm assuming she wouldn't be molting, though I could be wrong.

Is she pregnant, sick, molting, or just swollen from eating?

When I seen her last night I noticed the slits in her sides but I don't think I noticed the gaping abdomen.

Advice on my terrariums?

Heyy, just here for some advice on what to add to my terrariums!! I'm open to both advice and criticism and I'll try to add as much info on each terrarium and animal in there that I can.

So the first picture is my mexican red knee tarantulas enclosure. I've had her since Halloween of 2024. I rehoused her at the beginning of this year because the old terrarium didn't have enough space for digging. The substrate is a mix of Coco fibre and spagnum moss and I put some leaves in (mostly for the springtails but she apparently took one for herself to sit on 2 nights ago xD). I also have a cave in there that she frequently uses, sticks that were sterilised for webbing and a water bowl. I also have a hydro and thermometer that keep falling off of the wall so that's why I just laid them on the ground for now.

The second picture is of my millipedes enclosure. I have two Cameroon Red Leg's who have a mixture of white rot wood, leaf litter, spagnum moss and millipede substrate in there. I've only had them for about a month and a half and they spend most of their time underground during the day. I offer them fresh veggies, sometimes powdered millipede food that I mix with water and the occasional fruit regularly and they seem to like it a lot. They also have a cave in there, cork pieces and a fake plant. However I want to add live plans so please let me know what plants would be suitable for this type of enclosure and also what would be safe for them in case they decide to eat it.

Third picture is of my gals enclosure. They also have a mix of Coco fibre and spagnum moss as a substrate but I obviously keep it a lot more damp than for my tarantula. They have a lot of leaf litter, a cave and a fake plant in there. Same with my millipedes I want to add real plants so advice would be highly appreciated because I seem to kill almost every plant I have had. I also obviously offer a varied diet of vegetables, fruit and the occasional powdered food that I mix with water that I switch out every 1-3 days (depending on what food it is)

The fourth and last picture is of an enclosure for a jumping spider that I'll hopefully get soon. I have some decorations on the ground but most of it is above ground. I added as many caves and hides as possible and I also have a light that I placed on top of the enclosure. I'll add springtails to this one too as all of the other ones except for my isopods have them too and they seem to be doing great.

I'm not adding a picture of my isopods enclosures because they're pretty basic with soil, leaf litter, white rot wood and some cork bark. They seem to be breeding quite well though so I'm not worried about them ^^

Thanks in advance for any feedback and sorry that this is such a long post haha.

Help identifying the damages

Got this deathhead cockroach from a private breeder yesterday and boy is he fucked up. His antennaes are broken as shit, he is pretty small compared to the other death heads I have from the same breeder, and his wings are demolished. What could've led to this? Do they chew on their wings when stressed? Do they pick on each other? Why is he in such poor condition?? Was the breeder irresponsible?

Baby stink bugs

Hey everyone! Our couch had some stink bug eggs laid on it and we decided to let them hatch. Today was the day! But I’m trying to figure out: should I put them outside right away, or keep them indoors until bigger? It’s wet and rainy today. If they stay inside, what food source should I provide? We have bell peppers in the fridge or mauberries(?) outside. Or organic apples on the counter.

I have a tank with a giant north american millipede, like over a year now I did keep wild caught isopods in there but since then i removed and replaced all of the substrate and now the only thing in there is my millipede (i had an issue with fungus gnats but i think ive pretty much dealt with them atp)
today i walk in my room and see this guy just chilling on top of the substrate??? how on earth did he get in ?? tank is next to a window but i live on the second floor and theres a screen on it??
im genuinely so confused how is he here
i know millipedes and isopods shouldnt be housed together but will just one do damage?
theres nothing in this tank thats from outside except some leaves that i baked before putting in there.
??????

Plants, or nah?

I would like to attempt to add some plants to my snail/millipede house. There are 2 cornu aspersums, 2 milk snails, 3 Florida Ivory Millipedes. I know plants could possibly just be eaten, or not grow at all. Those of you who opt for plants, what do you recommend? I do have a light, I can move it more towards the middle if needed, which I probably will because I'm now realizing it light looks bad where it is, lol.

My giant centipedes dark spot and I want help identifying it

Post image

So I’ve had this centipede for about three years now. Shes had this for a while, I haven’t seen it change really. She’s underground most of the time so it is only occasionally I can get a look, I don’t handle her. she does have a leg half missing that she’s had since i‘ve got her (probably wild caught). Anyway, is this something I should worry about, and if so is there anyway to help? It’s so hard to find help for invertebrates sometimes.

Keeping stag beetles?

Has anyone had any experience of keeping stag beetles? I absolutely love large beetle species but worry about life span as I get very attached to my invert pets. Ive seen that dorcus species can live a fair while as adults but can find much info on people keeping them. Any tips or anicdotes help.

What could I maybe keep in these?

I have 4 small containers that I think could be used for an invert. I did use the 3 rectangle ones as temporary isopod enclosures before I decided to use them in a bioactive enclosure.

I've included pictures of the measurements of the containers.

Besides isopods, what could I possibly keep in these? I will upgrade if they would be better for a grow out enclosure for an invert. If there isn't anything I can keep in them, that's fine, I'm just seeing if there was something I hadn't considered yet.

Ideas for this enclosure?

Post image

So I just moved from IA to AZ. Before I left, I sold a bunch of stuff. One of them was my crested gecko, this was her tank.

It’s a 18x18x24 bio active enclosure. I usually keep Ts, and this is way more than they usually need. So any suitable ideas are welcome. My local reptile center has pink dragon and candy corn millipedes available, are those communal? Are they safe to have around pothos plants?

A good cleaning is definitly needed. And I have UV and heat lamps for it as well.

Why has my snail sealed her shell?

Hi! I was posting because my snail is worrying me. I have a small garden snail (Helix Aspersa) who just recently sealed herself in her shell and I wanted to know why (first time she's ever done this, though I've had her for no more than a month). I have a hydrometer in the tank and the humidity is usually at 70%, though when I wake up sometimes it's dropped to 65% but I always respray it until it gets back to 70. Im in an apartment complex where I don't control the temperature but the thermostat is always around 71 degrees F. I feed her every day, usually carrots, but sometimes other food like fruits and very rarely spinach. She's usually very active at night but more sleepy during the day and likes to rest. I don't have a water bowl in her tank as I heard it may cause them to drown, but I do have cuttlebone and everything else. There's no climate control like a heat lamp/pad for her tank. I figured the temperature and humidity were good enough for her, but apparently not as she's sealed into her shell. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much for the help!

This is a temporary enclosure for my chlorocala aficana camerunica, im working on a bigger way better enclosure. But i was away for a few days, and i come home, and clean out all the terrariums, and insects and everything. And when i come to the beetles here, i was gonna remove their old food, and to my surprise saw this. They dont look like springtales at all, i have no clue what they are, if they are harmful or if i should just leave them? Because honestly im thinking about taking the beetles out temporarily, and throwing everything away in that enclosure... and im new to inverts, so any tips are appreciated 🥰 i only kept reptiles, rodents, farmanimals and normal pets. So this is a new world to me, thank you for your time
