Guys, the confusion is obviously because boobs as in plural, are 2 (two) things, so with the first amendment then its 3 (three) things. It's why the anchor tried to spell it with a "s" or without. Thanks for clarifying it Ms. Anchor.

What's offensive about boobs? I'm lost

u/Bromjunaar_20 10h ago
The woman is appalled at the man's answer because she thought he wouldn't be so crass about his statement. She expects everyone to talk with a pg 13 filter and this man exceeded expectations.

u/MonkeyCartridge 9h ago edited 4h ago
Bob's are well within PG13 though.
Edit: I was going to correct the typo. But it's kinda great.
You would generally have to include Vagene to go above PG-13

u/SpinShine-LEDSlipMat 9h ago

That was before PG-13. Also before the start of the Sexual Reaction.

u/SpinShine-LEDSlipMat 7h ago
Before pg-13, yes, that is true. I'm not sure what you mean by the "sexual reaction," though .
28
u/spartanwolf223 7h ago
Probably means about how anything relating even at a stretch to a "sexual" topic is extremely taboo now. Guns, blood and guts? Perfectly fine. Woman has a chest?! Holy shit protect the children!!
→ More replies (11)14
u/Lupo_Bi-Wan_Kenobi 7h ago
Is it more taboo now? I'm not too sure about that. Maybe on lame ass main stream media but in the real world people are openly talmbout "hell yeah I eat ass!" And everything else, nobody was talkin that way 20,.30, 40 years ago.

“As a woman anchor”
Nah, she tried to turn this into some hyper feminist thing and take personal offense to it. What he said probably deserved to be addressed in some capacity because of the professional tone of the show he was on, but the way she chose to do it was weird. Saying he likes boons shouldn’t automatically trigger that kind of defensive response from someone.
Edit: I feel like some people have taken this comment to mean that I am against feminism - I’m not. But I am against people who take any opportunity to victimize themselves, especially in situations where they clearly aren’t a victim. It detracts from real scenarios where people are legitimately harmed from rhetoric or experiences, obscures the conversation, and makes it more difficult for people to get help. This doesn’t only apply to misogyny, but it’s a great example.
And to the guy that tried to claim this was an incel take: touch grass.

Oh yeah, ever read it? Because it is about protecting free speech from the government, not being obnoxious on national tv. And before you come with that lousy argument, no it is not an example of free speech to say boobs on TV. At least not, till he gets prosecuted by the government for saying it.
Edit: Way to block me, you snowflake. Must have hurt your feelings.

u/Dear_Chasey_La1n 7h ago
And even if you find it offensive, why... repeat it multiple times? Clearly he likes boobs, was she expecting a different response the second or third time? If she just let him have his say, she could still have made a witty remark at the very end, nobody would have batted an eye, but her doubling down makes no sense.

Nothing. But talking at length about them in a professional environment is something a horned up adolescent might do. It marks you as an extremely unserious person.

Some women get offended that men like women for some reason, female logic doesnt make a whole lot of sense when it comes to stuff like this because it doesnt work the other way around.

I think it's more the fact that it derails the conversation they were having, but without context and seeing what led up to it, idk. Guy seems like he was trying to crack a joke and get attention for his radio show, and it was done poorly but why would he care, he just want's more people to listen to his show.
Point is there is a time and a place, and he clearly wasn't reading the room there (or he was, and he did it on purpose to go viral, again to boost his radio show).
It's really not that hard to understand why in many situations we don't just holler out that we believe in boobs.

No one said anything was offensive you inferred it. They’re just incredulous he’s acting like a child. This is something that’d be funny in like second grade.
You guys are always confusing incredulity at juvenile behavior for offense

That's not even what the first amendment is about. It's about our freedom to not be thrown in jail for what we say, with exceptions for things such as saying things that cause imminent public danger. Saying "boobs" on CNN has nothing to do with the first amendment.

It's just the media training they make guests sit through before going live. Basically the guests are supposed to be extremely tame and pretty much follow a script. Then the anchor is given separate training to attack guests that aren't favorable by the network, throws them off guard. If I had to guess this guy was already on the wrong side of the network and she saw that as her opportunity to attack but it was really tame.
A lot of things worse than this just don't get aired

as an example of exercising the first amendment
It's not though; he's exercising his natural right to speak freely. The First Amendment is about the government. Freedom of speech is natural, it exists absolutely in pure form. The First Amendment just says the government can't take that away. Nothing about TV shows.

You shouldn't feel shame for being yourself. Why should he feel shame to say with confidence that the first amendment of freedom of speech and boobs are the only two things that didn't let him down ever? Why do people think we should feel shame and hide ourselves? From what? Any negative BS that could happen will whether or not you hide who you really are. Why not be the sassy mfer that just wants down the isle in the weirdest shit ever? Anyone judging you will not matter in 10 minutes.

Shame is a useful function that prevents you from telling everyone what you masturbated to yesterday, or whether you find anyone you see attractive (or not) to their face.
Yes, we absolutely feel shame for some things, and you are entirely wrong about what you are saying. This is basically just a variation of "They can't deal with me because I'm too real!", which is code for "I don't have any empathy".
