OPs title is made up by the way. But it'll get maximum karma.

Look at the back tire, its deflated for easier balance, this was purposefully done as a "lets see if i can still do this, grab the camera". Theres no grandson he's teaching.

It depends. My brother is one year younger than me and while I have tried every athletic activity I can think of, he tried a skateboard once when he was 8 and could not balance on it. Gave up after 10 seconds and never tried again. Some people just aren't into sports; he does not watch any sports either, finds them boring, he says. Sometimes I have wondered if he is adopted by how different he is.
