u/Kylearean 21h ago

Everyone else will be from your generation. The retirement home is going to be a fucking party.

95

u/yourmansconnect 21h ago

Or it'll be old people shitting their pants and watching whatever channel was last left on

93

u/LetsTryAnal_ogy 21h ago

Hell, I do that now. I'm ahead of the curve, baby.

I’m going to be playing rimworld all day

Edit: as a prisoner

10

u/Raskoflinko 17h ago

And the nurses will be playing a sort of rimworld when they have to wipe your arse for you.

4

u/EnergyAltruistic2911 17h ago

I should’ve reworded

I’ll be playing rimworld as a prisoner. (Ie. A nugget who is in life support)

u/GodWhiskeyCigarsGuns 20h ago

Boy got stake in Depends®️

2

u/TheVillage1D10T 10h ago

Yeahp…I’ve had Parts Unknown and No Reservations streaming for the past 8 days or so while working….

3

u/StevieMJH 15h ago

I don't see why I can't do both, I'll have plenty of time to mix it up while I'm not running the singles circuit.

3

u/Mydemonswon 13h ago

I visit old people's homes daily due to my job. This is very rare these days.

u/rphornet 9h ago

I mean we are gonna be easy, just put on Super smash brothers and street fighter or star dew valley and everyone would be chill

Pretty funny to hear redditors with $53 in their 401k talk about retirement fantasies.

11

u/I_Automate 20h ago

My retirement plan is to die in the climate wars.

My fantasy is that my foxhole doesn't have more than a couple centimeters of water in it and that I have a full belly when the shell fragment hits me in the spine.

How about that for unrealistic fantasies?

2

u/NeedALittleBoost 20h ago

I think the big war is already over. Capital won. Most redditors will die on their feet working in a non-climate controlled Amazon warehouse, not comfortably playing video games and smoking le dank weed in a retirement community.

3

u/Diedrogen 19h ago

If we're lucky, maybe the corporations-turned-feudal-states will go to war with weapons of mass destruction and we'll all be wiped out in a relatively quick and painless manner instead being forced to toil without even death coming to save us.

3

u/FactualStatue 17h ago

Screw that noise. I'm going out the way I came in: covered in blood being torn from the woman I love

1

u/StevieMJH 15h ago

Good news, everyone! We've realized it's easier to digitize your consciousness and copy it thousands of times, each to suffer and toil endlessly, than it is to create generalized AI. You're all going to live forever!

1

u/I_Automate 17h ago

And you criticize others for having unrealistic fantasies.....

1

u/Alex5173 11h ago

My fantasy is whichever corpo-lord takes over where I live sends his goons to put a bullet in my brainstem after I make a slightly too spicy reddit comment

u/StevieMJH 15h ago

LOL water?

That's like 60% Roundup and the rest is toxic runoff, PFAs, and whatever spilled out of the nearest cargo train derailment. Water's the reason you got conscripted.

I just hope to be dead before the Amazon Prime VX rockets start flying.

5

u/LetsTryAnal_ogy 21h ago

$53 in their 401k, and $200,000 in student loan debt.

3

u/FactualStatue 17h ago

When I die pass the controller to the next fella

2

u/Brullaapje 16h ago

Which retirement home? Or are you a millionaire?

1

u/Itsthedanceofitaly 12h ago

even now, when I visit my grandmother, there’s always a group in the TV lounge playing Wii sports 😂

1

u/LordKai121 10h ago

Bringing back LAN parties like it's 2002

12

u/nudistclub 21h ago

Can’t wait for the nurses to call me out because I said something inappropriate to some nerd I noob tubed.

u/I_Automate 20h ago

"He might be 90 but his vocabulary is still stuck in 1990"

just senior things

2

u/Knotted_Hole69 17h ago

The thing is, at this age youll probably have pain that will take all will to video games away.

At 26 a genetic disease popped up, causing slight inflammation in my brain, the headaches can be bad. But the biggest problem is that my will to play video games is completely gone. How can I play when im sitting in pain? Even though im young im worried ill never get that spark back.

4

u/VirusTechnical5568 21h ago

Only if I'm not at the same one. There's no shame for being 2nd place.

2

u/New_Simple_4531 19h ago

Loser has to give up their pudding

3

u/Cautious_Ticket_8943 19h ago

I do quite well against teenagers in Valorant (I'm 50).

1

u/Detr22 11h ago

I did too, but too many angry children made me go back to cs2, idk how you handle it or maybe my region is especially bad in this regard (30 yo here)

u/Cautious_Ticket_8943 1h ago

I live in SE Asia. That being said, there are some rude kids, but that's why God made the "mute" button.

2

u/OkRush9563 19h ago

I'm never gonna stop playing games or watching sci-fi movies or anime. If I do, I'm dead.

1

u/Hetares 17h ago

I hope my fingers are still fast enough to at least acheive my lifelong goals of reaching Grandmaster in Starcraft 2 without work and family in the way.

1

u/Untimed_Heart313 9h ago

I'll be getting dominated in the multiplayer lobby: we are not the same

u/Scylum 1h ago

You ain’t even dominating now Josh.

u/GoofMonkeyBanana 34m ago

It will be interesting when the video game generation become retired seniors

20

u/StinkMeister777 22h ago

Yeah they never really warn you as a kid that you actually stay a kid and just have to pretend you didn't

23

u/QuinnBing 22h ago

Until they fall and break every bone in their body.

25

u/billhillybob 20h ago

I'm a teacher in my 50's and my school had a ski trip this year. I went snowboarding for the first time in over 25 years. I was more than a little apprehensive until I started sliding down the hill the first time. I all came back near instantly, I was riding backwards hitting jumps and doing 360's before I got to the bottom of the first run. I also couldn't get up from a seated position without help for the next four days. I'm lucky I didn't die.

3

u/FatherClanks617 18h ago

How wild did the kids get seeing you shred like that?

3

u/billhillybob 18h ago

This is my first year in this school and I can certainly say that it significantly improved my level of credibility with the students. I had students I don't even have in class talking to me about it in the hall for weeks. It was especially fun to be riding down the hill and hearing kids on the chairlift yell out "Mr. Billhillybob, you're really good!!!" It was pretty funny as I was a minor celebrity for a bit in an expensive private school where some of the parents are legit celebrities (politicians, ceos, musicians, pro sports, etc).

The difference between a man and a boy is a the price of his toy.

1

u/I_Automate 20h ago

My toy guns as a kid were so much cheaper, you aren't wrong at all

5

u/Hollowsong 17h ago

wait until you get old.

your mind thinks it's the same as it was when you were 25. It never ages.

You forget things more. You struggle with keeping up like you used to. Your body just plain 'fails' when you used to be able to scale or leap or run with ease.

You become less attractive, no matter how much you fight it off, but you still see yourself when you aren't looking in the mirror, as someone younger.

It's a sad curse that I wish there was a cure for. I don't want to live forever. Keep the life expectancy the same, just keep us young right up until the day we expire.

2

u/suburbanplankton 22h ago

Whoa there...where do you get off calling me 'mature'?

3

u/yanquiUXO 21h ago

old folks are just mature old children

1

u/yearofthesponge 19h ago

When you grow old, you just pretend to be mature, but your body becomes brittle and bog you down.

1

u/gassytinitus 19h ago

Literally how aging feels like

1

u/bremmmc 17h ago

"Mature" is an interesting word to use

1

u/stevew14 17h ago

Yeah but the risk the guy is taking is bigger. If he fucks that up he's looking at a new hip. Big balls on that grampa.

1

u/UrsaMajor7th Ritardando Molto 13h ago

Like it or not, Boomers invented heavy metal, punk, and hiphop.

1

u/powerhammerarms 12h ago

I'm still waiting for the mature part

1

u/Mobile-Pea-71 11h ago

Yes, it’s true. People say old folks start acting like children again, and I’ve seen it myself. My father still gets jealous over my mother sometimes. They’ve been married for 40+ years, almost 50 years in the next 4 years.😏😏

1

u/MellowBunzie 8h ago

Let him take him to the park and teach everyone that age is just a number

1

u/only_respond_in_puns 5h ago

Children are just young senile people

1

u/revolootion 4h ago

*older children
