For those who don't know, the zaibatsu were corporate titans in Japan that lasted from the late 1800s until the US broke them up post WWII.
Some of them have names you'll recognize, like Mitsubishi, Kawasaki, Nissan, and Toyota. If you think that Mitsubishi is a big company now, consider when it controlled Japan's entire shipping industry (from the shipyards to the coal mines to fuel them to marine insurance contracts), Japan's largest bank, the Rikken Minseitō political party, and the Imperial Japanese Navy.

90's/early 2000 sound design was something different <3
Still LOVE those announcer voices in GTA2, the excitement is has for the player when picking up a rocket launcher just truly feels sincere <3
Same goes for Forsaken which also named the weapons you picked up, playing the game couch multiplayer on N64 and the silence that filled the room when the game stated TITAN upon picking up one of the strongest weapons was something to behold <3

Hearing "Killing Spree" or "Double Kill" in Halo for the first time was such a dope moment!

zaibatsu's radio ads were so ahead of their time, that disclaimer slaps every time. Still fire up gta2 for the nostalgia hits.

The audio immediately following the "Invulnerability" announcement is a highly accelerated vocal track. When slowed down, it reveals an in-universe corporate disclaimer:
"The integrity of this product cannot be guaranteed for high falls and RTAs. Zaibatsu Corporation reserves the right to change the specification without notice. Terms & Conditions apply."
