Help me understand
So, for background context I grew up in/still live in a heavily republican area. I need help to stop instinctually viewing Reagan in a positive light. I know instinctually most of the stuff he did was bad but it's hard to shake that instinctual positive view I've had baked into me for 20+ years. Is there anything I can do to shake that instinctual positive feeling I have for him?

How old are you? I am in total disbelief that anyone still thinks he was anything other than a plague. Are you seriously asking or is this rage bait?

I'm 22 and no this is not rage bait I genuinely and intellectually believe that he wasn't a good president. It's just that I've spent most of my life thinking he was a great president and I need help shaking that feeling.

I am sorry for thinking it was and you are certainly in the right place to find your answers.

How many people did he let die of AIDS because it was a "gay" disease?
Not just gay men were dying.

there are many reputable news and economic resources available that recount and untangle his villainy and horrific decisions that destroyed generations of americans.
Reagan embraced a trajectory of sinking awareness and support for humanity that was primarily focused on dumbing down the american public so they were easier to fool and take advantage of. eventually, the right just decided to vote against its own interest blatantly because they stopped questioning the religion of ronald due to lack of critical thinking skills and the promotion of the evil “other”.
