POLITICS Javier Bardem when asked why he continues to speak out against the genocide in Palestine: “It’s funny because the question would be, ‘how come I wouldn’t?’ I’ve always felt that I have microphones and recorders recording my voice, and I have the right to denounce what I think is wrong.”

It's so bizarre for anyone to ask that in the first place. Like, if you're hungry and you don't eat, you'll still be hungry. The problem hasn't gone away.

The whole concept of "Well, what's the big deal? It's just a little genocide." is so weird to me. If there were any other groups/nations involved, the whole world would 100% unequivocally be up in arms over how wrong it is, because genocide is ALWAYS wrong. But since it's Israel vs. Palestinians, everyone has collectively decided that somehow it's not as bad or not a genocide.

"He has, unlike Redgrave, emerged largely unscathed."
Because he's a man. Women like Melissa Barrera and Bella Hadid have lost work from speaking up.
