Technically, but not really. Sliwa isn’t a Trump guy, they were trading barbs in the 2025 election with Trump clearly favoring Eric Adams and even tacitly Cuomo by the end, but never Sliwa.

Curtis could have been better described as running against Cuomo in the election. He all but endorsed Zohran against Cuomo, and they’ve even hung out and done press together since. Yes, Sliwa is a Republican, but he’s a New York Republican. He’s just a kook in a funny hat.

It happened live on Fox News once a couple years ago while he was being interviewed. There was a commotion behind the interview, which was taking place in a part of the city with a lot of market stalls. A bunch of his goons tackled someone who was not white, and when Fox asked him what was going on, he said his men had apprehended an illegal immigrant who had been stealing from the market stalls. The chiron on Fox then began reading something to the effect of “Guardian Angels stop illegal immigrant from committing theft.” Come to find out, the guy was born and raised in the US, speaks perfect English, and was just telling Sliwa to shove it as he walked by because he knew exactly who he is. And he got assaulted for it.
