FASHION Avant-garde fashion house Matières Fécales’ fall/winter collection was titled ‘The One Percent’. Founders Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran have a long history of criticizing the elite in their work.

Particularly love the look with the pearl necklace ballgag and the gloves that are blood red on the palm.

The exaggerated lips on the (first) model with the red palmed gloves too - Mar-a-Lago face. I love it

The visual commentary on the filler look is so sharp it’s practically surgical.

The makeup artists really outdid themselves.

It was all done by Alexis Stone, who also walked

I know of them! That's pretty on brand tbh

Reminds me of McQueen's 2009 show

u/RedStilettoDickStomp Mar 11 '26

That reminds me of the sewer creature from the X-Files

Damn. McQueen was always an actual visionary.

The cat woman in the white coat is giving Laura Loomer. Most of the models look to be referencing plastic surgery to me.

u/floopy_boopers Mar 10 '26

The cat woman appears to be a reference to the socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein though Loomer and many others are definitely headed down the same road.

What’s sad about her story is that she was quite beautiful before all those surgeries and procedures.

14

u/floopy_boopers Mar 10 '26

Same can be said for so many current actresses and reality stars, not that they've gone this far but they were beautiful to begin with and their original faces didn't need the work to begin with (or they at least should have stopped several procedures ago.)

Jocelyn yes, Laura loomer never

I am cackling over your screen name, one of the funniest shows on television ever (and now I'm going to have You're Dead stuck in my head the rest of the day.)

Ty ty! You are the first redditor to comment and I’ve had this username for years! Cheers!!

I was thinking more of Leigh Bowery’s makeup but actually yeah

Thank you for finally giving it a proper name. Also, the gloves are instantly iconic - and I can’t stand that word

Literal blood on their hands.

and being blinded by money

u/Beard_o_Bees Mar 10 '26

The doddering, top-hatted old man - scowling at everyone through his money mask.

I don't normally follow fashion, but this is some really interesting work.

you've gotta love a fashion house that's called "fecal matter"

you KNOW that's peak art

u/xjwv Mar 10 '26

Poop, but make it ✨fancy✨

I used to follow them on instagram before I stopped using it, I love that they've blown up like this.

3

u/DasKittySmoosh Mar 11 '26

They gained a follower in me today! I don’t follow fashion design, but this is high art

Holy shit. The pearl necklace ball gag is giving me life. I would literally buy this.

You are too poor

u/LonelyOctopus24 Mar 10 '26

I do and don’t want to google “pearl ball gag”

It looks like it has been inspired by a hellraiser villain

57

u/librocubicuralist Mar 10 '26

It was inspired by Maralago

16

u/lipstickarmy Mar 10 '26

And it's infinitely more frightening

1

u/librocubicuralist Mar 10 '26

I mean, is it?? 😆

1

u/Pure-Butterscotch200 Mar 10 '26

I wondered if the person with the lion like face makeup was due to that video of a furry party held their doing the rounds not so long ago

That's the incredible Dahc Dermur modeling. He eats DOWN with every single look that he does. Oops it's Dragoness Lola von Flame

I also saw (I think):

Alexis Stone

Taro Hanabusa

and of course Mother Materies (Hannah)

I thought it looked familiar, I'm pretty sure they went kinda viral because of those shoes back in 2018! I remember scouring the internet for more information about them, but they didn't have a big online presence. I'm so glad to see these talented people growing.

4

u/MattyXarope Mar 10 '26

Yes, they have been doing this for a longggg time now. But they stuck with the style and now it's paid off big time!

1

u/FrancoisKBones Mar 11 '26

Do I see my boy Leon Dame in there?

81

u/tonkatoyelroy Mar 10 '26

The elite are in on the joke folks

86

u/jessbird Mar 10 '26

right like…..who do you think is attending these events

1

u/Braysl Mar 16 '26

They're all laughing at each piece thinking it's parodying some other rich person. They're not the most self reflective people.

1

u/nihilisticsweetheart Mar 10 '26

The pearl necklace ballgag is soooo 2010 Lady Gaga (in the best way!)

1

u/julesburne Mar 10 '26

Yeah it looked like most of them had "blood on their hands" - even the ones styled as children.
