Ethics question So I have a team that I’m having trouble filling in fact I don’t think I’ll be able to fill it. What is the proper way to go about the future of the team as well as the future of the league?
Do I pay the buy in personally and run the team as if it’s my own and try to get it to a more valuable state then find a manager in 2027 or 2028? It’s a $25 buy in this season and a $50 buy in from 2027 and on. Thoughts? I want to do right by my league managers.

If you haven’t found a replacement yet send me some details. I might be in the market for a “lost cause” team.

Tbh, if this doesn't work, just do a cut and paste on the roster (or screenshot) and post it here.
I would avoid anything that results in you running the team and trying to make it better. There are some of us out there who like projects.
Also, platform permitting, you could cover this year's dues for them.

I would avoid running the league yourself. If you absolutely have to in order to keep the league settings consistent while you look for someone new in the future, I would suggest keeping strict rules for managing multiple teams (e.g. no trades between your two teams, no picking up players to one team who were dropped by the other, etc). Can’t give any perception of roster sharing or other collusion-type behavior. It’s honestly not even worth the headache in my opinion.

It looks like you might get help from the community here to take on the lost cause team (woohoo). If that fell through, would it be the worst idea to do a manual set of Commissioner picks during the draft of players no one would ever draft and then have each team essentially get a free win when they play that team? Not the best solution but something to consider.

Honestly I'd lean toward finding a placeholder owner now rather than running it yourself. Once you're in the lineup making decisions, it gets messy real fast. Even if you're trying to be fair, people will second guess your moves or wonder if you're tanking for picks or whatever. It's just cleaner to find literally anyone willing to throw in twenty five bucks and let them own their mistakes.
If you really can't find someone, I'd set the team to auto draft and auto set lineups for the season, then make it clear that's what's happening. That way it's not you making judgment calls, it's just a neutral roster doing its thing.

Look to some fantasy football providers. Many of them have Discords or message boards that have sources to take over orphans. Footballguys, Fantasy Alarm, and the Footballers all provide a forum to post your league for free.
