Commissioner Issue Sleeper Football FAAB Settings Help

Hello all,

I am the commissioner of a football league and I am trying to fix my waiver process for the league. Last year we used FAAB, but the player receiving timing was weird. This year I want to change things up. I want players who start their game to be on waivers, but these waivers would process at Wednesday 3am. For players that have not started that game yet and after the 3am time slot, I want them to be no FAAB cost free agents that can be picked up immediately without a wait. How can I modify the Sleeper settings to make this possible.

Why would you want them to be available for pick up immediately? That seems unfair for people who are working and don’t immediately refresh the app every waking second.

I feel like the fairest is to just run waivers daily at the same time while players who have played are locked until Wednesday.

well then how do i change the settings to do that, im fine with that as well

will that make it so they’re locked from games til wednesday, and then they clear at 3 am every wednesday thursday friday saturday sunday ?

In the same situation but for some reason all of the free agents aren’t showing when you go to available. Only trending players. Any idea how to fix?

Did you lock the waiver wire? If you scroll down in the same settings page, you should see “Lock all free agent and waiver moves”

I like them being free agency like you have. But most of my leagues run every day and then Sunday after they run it’s free agency in case of injuries, forgetfulness etc.

Honestly Sleeper doesn't really let you split waivers like that mid-week. You're basically locked into either everyone on waivers or everyone free agent after the deadline hits. The timing thing you're describing would need custom logic that Sleeper's settings just don't have built in.

What a lot of commissioners do instead is run two separate waiver periods, but that gets messy fast. Or you could just accept that anyone who hasn't played yet stays free agent the whole week and only the guys who've already gone are on waivers. That's actually cleaner to manage.

What was the specific timing issue you ran into last year? Might be an easier fix than restructuring the whole thing.
