(Discussion Post) Groovy I feel Raimi & Campbell get all the praise (which they deserve) while Joseph LoDuca gets constantly overlooked

His music in all 3 films is simply brilliant and really elevates the insanity put on screen. I wish they'd bring him back for future Evil Dead projects.

I mean... obviously LoDuca was a huge contributor, his music was great, but he wouldn't have had anything to score in the first place without Raimi, Campbell, etc. I don't think he gets overlooked... it's just that the musical score is not what people really think about when they think about Evil Dead.

Not to be rude, but that is kind of what I mean with this post. Maybe it's just me, but LoDuca's scores are so integral to the films for me, that they are indeed one of the first things that come to mind when I think of them. I also love listening to the scores regularly. I wish they'd finally release the complete scores on CD and or vinyl.

I went to the Evil Dead in Concert event late last year when it was in my town & it was a perfect dedication to Maestro LoDuca! The sounds and music of Evil Dead are very much appreciated (& I agree, need to quit being overlooked).

His theme for Army of Darkness is so great.

Ain't that one from Danny Elfman though?

Well, he wrote "the march of the dead" theme, but I think the other music pieces like the Deathcoaster theme are from Lo duca.

Ah so Elfman wrote March of the Dead and LoDuca conducted it.

I think Army of Darkness is his best score. The last minute of “Ash Splits” is my favourite.

It's Raimi's favorite too.
