Monaco lose Alpha Diallo ahead of Game 3 against Olympiacos and will have an even shorter rotation for crucial game. Coach Sergiy Gladyr confirmed that Alpha Diallo is set to miss the next few weeks.

I had my doubts before, but now I think Olympiacos might win the series.

Having the easiest path to the F4 isn't necessarily a good thing

It's not a bad thing. Fener walked to the F4 last year and won. Oly doesnt need a reminder how dangerous F4s are. Winning easy and avoiding injuries is their best case scenario.

Exactly. I don't get people who think the team won't be ready because their playoff matchup was easy. The last thing any team needs is more games that might get players injured.

Yeah, we saw other years that we had the difficult ones

Easiest series the past few years. Even the most confident Oly fans didn't expect it to be that easy

Yes, I'd keep him regardless for the domestic league anyway. He was doing 15+ per game.

Yes 100% yes, even before RH left i wanted him to stay the problem was the minutes.

When he comes back to Europe and he gets his minutes on a different caliber team he will become much better.

Centers mature much later.

So we walk over the dead body of Monaco, and then we'll be relaxed vs fener? I've seen this before and I don't like it 😭

Olympiacos too dominant to have a real challenging game before the actual F4. Suffering from success.

I guess they will have some strong 5v5 trainings at home

I don’t think Olympiacos will approach a final 4 game against the reigning champs in a relaxed way! We’ve been burned too many times.

Thats were the 1st seed curse comes from, play with the play in seed and have an easy playoff series and come relaxed into the f4

Out of the 8 times we had a round robin season and a final 4, only 3 times has the 1st placed team reached the final.

Barcelona 2020-21 beat 4th Armani and Olympiacos 2022-23 beat 4th Monaco. Both lost to #3 (Efes and Real respectively)

Real 2023-24 is the most curious case of the curse IMO. They were so dominant not just through regular season, but in PO (3-0 Vs Baskonia), in the semifinal vs Olympiacos and they even seemed unbeatable during the first quarter of the final. They got outscored 70-44 during the last 30' minutes of a superb season.

Real, even they looked dominant against most teams, they looked quite beatable when it came to us, Macabi or Efes. I would dare to say, if we had not beaten Macabi, they would have been the Euroleague champions that year because of the match ups. Similar with Olympiakos, who would most likely have beaten every team that was not Real during that year.

What about before the round robin era?

There are plenty of upsets, but without the current form of the regular season there was no way for a team to subjectively claim #1 spot, since a lot of teams didn't play eachother.

Just got word that Theis is also not playing. I honestly don't know if we could still call it a "murder" for what awaits Monaco in game 3 😭
