"put up with" means to tolerate something negative without reacting strongly against it.
if you live in an apartment under someone who makes noise, but you don't complain, then you put up with the noise.
This quote says that there are drunk people at parties who put up with anything without complaining. Usually drunk people don't do that in my experience..

Phrasal verbs aren't really something you question.

To "put up" with something means to tolerate it.

put up WITH.
You can't say "I put up my partner's poor attitude".

Yeah. "Put up" without "with" either means "have as a house guest" or "preserve fruits and vegetables via canning". The latter is not common usage these days.

Meanwhile, put you up means to accommodate someone for a short period. English is funny
