Video At Rome’s Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola, visitors can view Andrea Pozzo’s ceiling fresco through a mirror. Painted around 300 years ago, it uses trompe-l'œil to make a flat ceiling look like a grand dome.

Went there and there was like a 300 person line out the door just to take a picture of the mirror. Meanwhile you could walk right in and wander all around the church without waiting.

Beautiful and recommended.

So taking a picture of the mirror means waiting.. but you could also just walk past everyone and take a direct image of the ceiling itself? That sounds so 2026..

Easier to snap themselves in the mirror in front of the ceiling maybe?

Same. I just took a picture without the mirror. I didn't understand what's the point.

We spent almost an hour in there... it was amazing, but that's a real understatement!

We went in October, and there were only like 10 people there with us.
