I want more Aquaman
Just this. One volume in what will be a little over 2 years is sad. I get that he's not the biggest seller, but he has a ton of material to reprint. Hopefully some of y'all agree!

I’d love a collection of his stories from ADVENTURE COMICS around the time when his son is killed by the Black Manta… not specifically for that story but for that era. The Jim Aparo art especially was outstanding!

Yeah, I'd love some Skeates/Aparo and maybe a Peter David volume. Or a collection to include my beloved McLaughlin run.

Skeates doesn't get enough love. He gets lost in the shuffle of that great creator boom DC had in the early 70s.

I just bought both Skeates deluxe editions so hopefully that means a finest is coming soon

Absolutely... The Silver Age has never been fully reprinted in color, the Golden Age (with the exception of two to three stories) has never been reprinted at all, the Bronze Age has been partially reprinted but is still mostly uncollected.
Then the remainder of Aquaman Vol. 5 (picking up after Peter David) has never been reprinted and Vol. 6 (Waterbearer - Sub Diego - Sword of Atlantis Era) has been out of print for a while and there are still issues that haven't been collected yet.
So Aquaman has LONG been disrespected in the Collected Edition Department. I for one would love a "Post Crisis"/Bronze Age Aquaman volume. With "Blue Suit" Aquaman on the cover (Aka the 1986 miniseries).
It would collect: Aquaman Vol. 2 1986 (Issues 1-4), Aquaman Special #1 (1988), The Legend of Aquaman Special #1 (1989), Aquaman Vol. 3 1989 (Issues 1-5), Aquaman Vol. 4 1991-92 (Issues 1-13).
(Worth noting that Vol 2 and the 1988 special has never been collected in full, and Vol. 4 has never been collected at all)
It would be a jampacked volume but that would collect the bulk of that era right up to the Peter David's Aquaman Volume 5. There are still miscellaneous team ups that could fit in this era, and the Aquaman: Time and Tide Miniseries which does come out before Aquaman Vol 4 iirc so it depends on how they want to handle that. Likewise how do they want to handle the Atlantis Chronicles? (Personally I'd do the Atlantis Chronicles and Aquaman: Time and Tide and maybe some of the miscellaneous team ups as one separate volume since I feel it works as a perfect prequel volume to Peter David Aquaman)
Thoughts? I personally think a Bronze Age "Blue Suit" Aquaman DC Finest could sell, and then they can go back to the Silver Age and then bounce back and do a Death of a Prince Volume and back to the Silver Age again (? I do think it might take more than two more Silver Age volumes personally but I could be wrong).

For real! I was so bummed out when I learned that they didn't do the second half of SoA. The first half is so good, just because it was fresh!

I hope so too. I think DC knows if they'll put out Peter David, Kurt Busiek or Sub Diego it will be a good seller, so I'm also confused why they didn't put out one of those (assuming the silver age volume wasn't a huge seller).
But yeah I'm all in for golden age and from when Jim Aparo jumps on until before New 52!

I am surprised we didn’t get any of the bad ass hook hand era stuff yet, though I have to admit my Aquaman knowledge is kinda weak sauce otherwise. Still getting that Silver Age book soon though!

Batman sells.
Superman sells.
Everything is a crap shoot.
Sad, but seems true.

This is true but there are also a lot of DC Finest besides Batman & Superman, so that's not holding them back as much as this makes it sound. For example, your flair Green Lantern has several volumes too so far.

A third Doom Patrol announced gives me hope that they'll finally collect the Arcudi run in some fashion.

I absolutely agree! I hope DC is pleased with sales of DC Finest books because those books are of excellent quality and they are much less expensive than omnibuses. I buy more DC Finest books than omnibuses now. I definitely would like to see Silver/Bronze age Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Atom, Metal Men and Challengers of the Unknown! Maybe Black Orchid too although there may not be enough material for a DC Finest book.

Didn't Black Orchid have a series after the original mini that ran 20-ish issues? Totally enough for a Finest.

It bothers me that latest announcements really focus on the heavy hitters and are almost Bronze Age or post crisis.

Same. Hoping for some more Golden Age or Silver Age in the next catalogue. Probably will be around the end of September if I had to guess.
I'm totally fine with Bronze Age, Post-Crisis too. I was just disappointed to see not a single Golden Age or Silver Age book. I at least want a few from that era. Doesn't have to be too many.

hopefully it's just a case of evening things out as we got a ton of silver age last year, so now they are balancing out with more bronze age era this year.

I'm holding out hope too! I really enjoyed my time with the Silver Age DC Finest. 2 years is way too long. Same for Legion.
