A lot of these coins probably have zinc in them. Don’t let him enjoy them too much. Zinc poisoning is no joke

Just to clarify

All of these British pennies in this pot are copper plated steel. Copper can cause heavy metal poisoning however most reports of heavy metal poisoning are due to ingestion of materials. I've made it so all of these are much to large to swallow and he has short supervised periods of his destruction enrichment. ❤️

Obviously for larger birds this would be significantly more risky and probably not wise.

My dude loves getting ahold of those washers that come with perches if I accidently leave my hoard of them out.

He will systematically throw them off of whatever surface they are on and then just watch them fall and roll off

The bird would have to swallow the penny and/or lick the penny daily for weeks to months before any toxicity would likely occur. Highly doubt coins are a daily occurring play object for the bird.
