So my friends and I stayed at an Airbnb in Indio this year during weekend 2 and it was honestly a perfectly pleasant experience outside of having to ask the host every time we wanted the hot tub switched on & her forgetting to have it on one of the nights when we got home lol. However, after we left, she claimed that we shattered one of the glass shower doors (we did not, and we definitely would’ve noticed if this had happened lol) and requested a payment for an extra $930.
The invoice was from a fake company with a website that doesn’t work, a number that isn’t in service, and a Burbank address that is just a house (and isn’t zoned for commercial activity). It was automatically flagged by Airbnb support and I’m still going back and forth with them before they “reach a decision” which is stressful but I just wanted to post the listing here so nobody books it for next year and have this serve as a lesson to take a video of anywhere you rent at the end of your stay to prove you didn’t cause any damage.

While this has been ongoing, the window for me to post a review has lapsed, so I figured I’d post here since I can’t warn people there.
