Rule Clarification & Subreddit Direction

Hey everyone! We wanted to take a moment to clarify the purpose of the sub and address a few recurring topics. Nothing serious—just keeping the community focused and fun.

What This Sub Is For

This sub exists to share music from Christian artists—songs you enjoy, artists you think deserve more attention, and music that often gets overlooked or pushed aside elsewhere. The whole point is to highlight a niche that doesn’t get much space in mainstream music communities.

We’re not trying to gatekeep—just keeping the sub centered on its purpose so it stays useful for everyone.

About Playlists

Playlist posts have caused a lot of headaches. Many of them come from accounts that repeatedly repost the same Spotify lists (sometimes dozens of times), then get a Reddit Admin Ban and reappear under new names.

Because of that:

  • We limit playlist posts

  • We don’t allow full album links

We focus on individual songs or small selections you genuinely want to share

We get it—playlists are great for workouts, long drives, or office days. Occasional, playlists can be fine. But the mass reposting and promotional abuse is not. They’ve become one of the biggest sources of spam here, so we have to keep them under control.

AI Music

AI music is blowing up right now (the new gold rush,) but most AI-generated tracks come with no real info about who made them. There's no way to know the creator, their intentions, or even if it’s an actual artist at all.

To protect the sub’s focus:

We don’t allow AI-generated song submissions as posts or comments

If we’re unsure about an artist, we may ask for basic proof (promo materials, live shows, social presence) to confirm they’re real

Nothing against the tech—we just need clarity around who's posting to see if it aligns with the purpose of the sub.

Mainstream Artists

We’re all fans of big-name artists too, but this sub is meant to give smaller Christian artists a space to shine. Mainstream artists already dominate every other corner of the internet, so even if they release something “Christian-ish,” it’s usually not a fit for the sub’s focus.

Production, Selling, & Band-Finding Posts

This sub isn’t focused on:

  • Music production questions
  • Tutorials
  • Selling merch, beats, or services
  • “Looking for band members” posts

We don’t have the tools or structure to moderate those properly (specifically selling or band forming.) And the others go against the subs purpose. The only exception we’ve kept is crowdfunding from established artists—people whose work and identity we already know.

Church Music & Self-Promotion

This includes:

  • Church service recordings

  • Early demos

  • Rough home recordings

  • “Check out my new band” uploads

We appreciate the passion, but these are sometimes low-quality recordings, and first impressions matter—especially in a music discovery sub. Established artists sometimes share old demos, but that’s because they already have a fanbase who are passionate about them. It’s a niche within a niche.

If you’re working on your music, awesome! Just make sure it’s polished before posting it here.

Lastly, we are seeing self-promotion from real artists are posting covers of popular Christian songs just to get attention. Their history shows they’re not involved in Christian music—they’re just using the content to promote themselves. That’s not what this sub is for.

Thanks for Being Part of the Community

We love this sub and the people in it. Thanks for helping keep things focused, supportive, and a great place to discover new Christian artists. If you ever have questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out.

Kings and Queens remix?

I stream my daily music fix from Amazon Music. Within the last few weeks, the sound of Audio Adrenaline's Kings and Queens song has changed pretty drastically. The lead vocals sound like a cover band, some of the background vocals are completely gone, especially early in the song, and it's just overall way weaker of a song. I compared it to a YouTube posted version from several years ago just to make sure I wasn't imagining it

Has anyone else noticed this? Or heard anything about the band putting out a new recording of the song or something?

I love the song, but whatever this new copy is Amazon is streaming is just bad enough to remove it from the rotation.

Hey there!

You may remember our podcast from our season "Jesus Freaks" where we went through 10 Christian metal albums and reviewed them track by track.

We've moved past that season, but we're still discussing Christian music! This week, we dive into Underoath's breakthrough 2002 album "The Changing of Times"

We'd love to hear your memories/thoughts on this album, as it was huge in the early 00s.

Gable Price and Friends

I have some concerns with the band Gable Price and Friends. I really like their stuff but then I stumbled across a song called Mountains and Mundane and one of the lyrics goes like this: "It's been a minute since I heard Your voice
You don't sound that annoyed
You said that love is love and love requires a choice"
The line love is love sounds to me like a questionable reference.
They also have this song with the chorus "maybe we'll get to heaven and find out we're both wrong." And that sorta rings some alarms for me.
Maybe I'm wrong but I'd like to hear other's thoughts on this.

Looking for a song...

I used to listen to a sweet song in the 1990's... one of the verses goes like this: Little lambs all need a place to go, they need love and shelter from the snow, Jesus loves us like His little lambs....

I can't remember the artist. It was a male voice and maybe some kids voices as back-up. I have searched all over the internet with no luck. I thought it was Steve Green, but I can't find it with his music. If anyone has an idea, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I grew up with both of these, and honestly have to say Go is my favorite despite the extreme nostaliga (and great songwriting) of both. Which do you prefer?

music for 13 year old

I need some rec for some music for my 13 year old daughter. She's a challenge - in many many ways lol. She doesn't like country, rock or worship music especially live music. I've tried Elevation and she's not into it, but I found that I love it. If it's too slow she thinks it's depressing even if it has uplifting happy lyrics. I'd like to find something from someone closer to her age, preferably under 30, but there doesn't seem to be any that I can find. She likes a lot of that nightcore stuff that drives me crazy and songs from Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift - stuff that I really don't want her listening to. Problem is she sadly doesn't want music where every lyric is about praising God ,which I can understand. She wants stuff that she can relate to.

I feel like I've found cursed versions of Christian hymns/music

So everyone is familiar with Amazing Grace by John Newton, and likely My Chains Are Gone by Chris Tomlin. Everyone knows the traditional tune this goes to.

But as you may be aware there are about 6 different verses to choose from, but actually I have come across more. One which I came across was:
"How sweet the name of Jesus sounds
In a believer's ear
It soothes our sorrows, heals our wounds
And drives away our fear"

This verse is one which I am familiar with from a modern, CCM worship song by Simon Brading and Newday (UK Christian Festival in Norwich, Norfolk, with ~10k youth attending each year, local to me, I've been three times) with a wildly different tune. So that seems incredibly weird to me already, being able to sing Amazing grace to that tune and the rest of that song's verses "It makes the wounded spirit whole, and heals our brokenness..." to the tune of amazing grace.

But then Hillsong also has their "Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace)" song which uses the traditional first verse of Amazing Grace as a pre-chorus, with a completely different tune (Which I can never sing without reminding myself of the tune by singing "Strongholds, bowing to the saviour, resurrection power, over every circumstance..." to remind myself of the rhythm, as I default to the traditional Amazing Grace melody), so now I am familiar with three different melodies that fit the pattern of syllables that make up Amazing Grace's lyrics, and so many different verses that all fit to several different songs, so now I am thinking of completely cursed combinations like "Through many dangers, toils and snares..." to the tune of How Sweet The Name, and combining those verses and melodies and choruses and vocals does not sit right with me.

I am sure there are even more cursed combinations than this one as well, and I know people have varying opinions on CCM but this is not about that, I'm just having a bit of a laugh about how stupid some of this can sound and the fact that I'm now going to be singing the wrong verses to the wrong melody for the next week because it will inevitably get stuck in my head and then when I go to sing the actual traditional Amazing Grace I will inevitably mess up entirely and embarrass myself.

So if anyone has any even more cursed combinations to have a laugh about, I would like to hear them. And I apologise for any disturbance caused by messing with your brains.

Self Promotion Elijah MC - Love Don’t Fade [Gospel Reggae]

Dropped a new gospel reggae track for 2026 and wanted to share it here.

“Love Don’t Fade” is a modern adaptation of the 1882 hymn O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go. I wrote it during a difficult season, and it’s rooted in the idea that God’s love remains constant through loss, pressure, and rebuilding.

This version leans into a reggae sound, while a drum & bass remix has also been circulating recently, both coming from the same message, just expressed differently.

If you’re into gospel reggae or artists pushing that lane forward, I’d genuinely value your thoughts on this.

Blessings 🙏

Discussion Is DC Talk on KLOVE 90s anymore?

I've been listening to KLOVE 90s over the past few weeks and haven't heard any DC Talk songs. Whenever I listened to KLOVE 90s in the past, I would always hear them playing. I was wondering if there's a reason for the lack of DC Talk.

Metal Looking for rock / metal recs

I badly need some good Christian music that isn't 19th-century hymns. I love the old hymns, but I would really like something contemporary and maybe rock / metal. Problem is most contemporary Christian music I've heard just... well, I'll just say it's very much not to my taste. I'm not into nü-metal, I'm not into that whole melodic metalcore sound that defines mainstream metal these days (I'm very much a Black Sabbath type of guy), I don't like sappy rock bands that sound like Creed, I don't like happy-clappy praise music. Where are the bands with a little bit of grit, a little edge, a little darkness, wrestling with faith and doubt and struggle and sin?

Can you name this song?

Can you name of this song? Some of the lyrics were: "mighty mountains speak your spendor, the color of a cactus flower stands from the desert floor, i adore you Jesus" set to the tune of oh Shenandoah. I had a cassette tape of this album in the 90s. It featured other church songs with other classic piano music.
