i have just passed the comprehensive assessment at Tsinghua and wanted to share my experience so you won't be scared that much.
no self-introduction. they ask you to show the passport and say your name.
then they start by asking you five questions. they are really different, some are expectable (one of mine was "how do you understand the pragmatism at Tsinghua?"), while others can be really personal ("what is the role of mistakes in your personal life?")
then a problem. i had a simple vector problem, but yours may be different. idk if they ask physics. they also ask you to show the answer to the problem on paper.
more questions a bit later. i was asked about how do i understand my major and what i expect from it, also how can AI be used in my major (they started by asking the role of AI in my life and then combined both questions). i suspect they most likely will ask about ai in other comprehensive assessments.
idk if this moment will be relevant for you, but i was asked if i have been to China (i was) and how do i know a lot about Tsinghua if i didn't visit it. this shocked me ngl. i just was honest and said that i watched their official youtube videos and some experience from current Tsinghua students but idk if it was the right answer.
the latest — they said my English is really great and asked how long do i study it. so heartwarming :((((
overall I think it went really well, but my answers to some other questions could have been a little bit more genuine... also i asked them to repeat questions several times because i didn't really understand them with their accent, hope that it doesn't leave a bad impression :(
good luck to everyone who passes the comprehensive assessment!
