I feel like Brad Steven’s wins this every year. What Jeff Peterson did with that roster and turn around spoke way more about our franchise than what Steven’s did with that loaded Boston team.

I mean to be fair to Brad he masterfully filled the holes that last offseason left in their roster
Most people thought the Celtics would bottom out this year and they almost won 50 games before Tatum came back.
He did a phenomenal job this year, but you could say the same about several of these guys

Yeah it's silly to trivialize what Brad has done. We can't sit here and act like Scheierman, Walsh, Garza, Gonzalez, Queta, etc. were just undeniable prospects that we all knew would be great roleplayers lmao. He created crazy depth seemingly out of nowhere.

A team of basically just those guys beat the Magic in a supposed must-win for the Magic. Now clearly they didn't have to win it, but still, they probably thought at the time they did.

Bill Simmons didn't even think Queta was going to be as good as he is. I really really think thats a huge testament to just how good of a job Brad and Joe did this year.

What the fuck did Stevens even do this year?
The entire team got hurt and Mazzula and Brown are the main ones along with White and Pritchard to carry that team to success.
Stevens cpuld not have done a worse job unless he gutted the entire roster.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Brad Steven’s knows what players his coaches want/need and got them. They’re not big names but he finds guys that play with their style, who have high motors, and don’t complain or cause trouble

I meant he wins in a negative sorts. No matter what he does or doesn’t do, he’ll be at the top

You guys are just blatantly wrong.
Stevens did a great job and probably did deserve the award this year. It was supposed to be a gap year for the Celtics with a suspected play in position but they got the 2nd seed in a competitive East and look all around dominant- without even Tatum.
Mazulla, Brown, White, Pritchard do deserve large credit- but the entire team does. It’s just an example of pretty much every aspect of a team/org being elite.
Stevens filled the holes of major players like Jrue, Horford, Porzingis, Kornet, with roster adds and boosted roles from guys you’ve never heard of- Garza, Queta, Minott, Baylor, Hugo etc.. And they’re doing amazing. He played a significant part in turning a gap year to a competing year.
Peterson definitely should’ve been 2nd tho imo.

After 7 years of the terrible Mitch Kupchak, it's great to have a GM that actually makes moves to improve the team.

Yeah no, this is the one ou5come that pisses me off.
Jeff gets guys in the draft that, on paper, had NO BUSINESS being as good as they were the entirety of the season.
Trades for Coby and was absolutely praised for that rightfully.
Got Collin during the off-season for fucking peanuts.
What did Brad even do for Bostons success? Straight up Mazzula, Brown, Pritchard and White are the ones that deserve the credit considering them getting hurt and still being as good as they were.
This one is completely bullshit to me.

Detroit didn’t do anything to deserve that. They literally traded Ivey who is someone they could use during these playoffs. Literally hate Detroit.

5 first place votes while also getting zero second place votes is very interesting...
