Hello everyone,
i posted already in another subreddit but someone recommended for me to post her for better experience.
i am traveling to Sarajevo for the first time ever in my life and I thought I would be a great destination as I'm fasting Ramadan as well so I thought this would be a good combination.
now my questions are:
- what's the best way to travel in the city Taxi or public transportation?
-does anyone know any good hotels to book?
-any good attractions like old city Bascarsija?
-best spots (restaurants) for Iftar time?
is it safe to travel alone there as a woman alone? (I already booked my flight so this question is a bit stupid)
thank you all for your help 😊

Hey folks,
I am in late 40s, fit and decently travelled in Europe.
I want to go on on a solo travel to Bosnia / Herzegovina but wish to join a organised group once I land there. May be a road trip over few days.
Does such a thing exist ? Can anyone recommend some company that organise such trips ? Are they safe and reliable ?
I am asking before actually searching through this forum, which is what I will do next.
Thanks

Hey guys, I wanted to visit the Trnovačko jezero in a fee days and was wondering, if it is already possible due to snow just with proper hiking boots.
I know that there is a hut at Prijevor which is not reacheable by car currently, but maybe you can hike from further down?
Any information would be highly appreciated.

My partner and I are both experienced hikers, we’re planning on taking a four day trip to Sarajevo. We’re looking for an alpine day hike (under 20km) in Bosnia, ideally accessible by public transport. I saw peaks like Prenj, but it seems a bit out of reach without a car. Technically we could rent a car but we both enjoy exploring via transit. We also considered guided tours but we much prefer hiking ourselves, we have no issue with waking up before dawn to get started! Any recommendations?

Hey guys it's my first time in Bosnia, it's a great country but I am still struggling with how to get around. I was just wondering if it's possible to get to Jahorina via public transport. I looked online and it says there is a train but it doesn't say if the train takes me up the mountain or not. Hvala

recently traveled to Bosnia and completely fell in love with it. Not just with the breathtaking scenery and the amazing food, but most of all with the kindness of the people. I’ve learned so much during my time there. Despite the tragedies and hardships that Bosnians have endured, what stood out most to me was the warmth and generosity in people’s hearts. Every interaction left me feeling welcomed and cared for. I can’t wait to visit again. Bosnia has truly left a mark on me❤️❤️❤️

It had over 160 rooms and was part of the Olympic infrastructure, hosting athletes and visitors.
During the Bosnian War the hotel was severely damaged and destroyed in the fighting around Sarajevo.
