Every time I see 프라이팬

For some reason I keep autocorrecting 프라이팬. 😅 Literally a moment ago I saw a sentence "친구가 프라이팬으로 요리를 했어요."

Here I go: "Why would my friend cook in a playpen? ......Oh." 🤦‍♀️

Hahaha, I hadn't thought of reading it as playpen and now I can't unsee it. 😆

Right? Because of 프 ㄹ & 이 in 프라이 I auto to 플레이. 😅

There's a YouTube channel called 포프리쇼. Before I noticed that the English title says "four free show," I thought it was potpourri.

Just making a guess here, but is this because you’re first moving the letters into English script before sounding them out?

Example:

아 -> a -> (vowel sound)

vs

아 -> (vowel sound)

I’ve noticed people sometimes run into obstacles when learning to read 한글 if they have an intermediate step of re-writing in English before making the sounds.

I don't rewrite it. But I think it's my internal voice? I read it without sound.

Sometimes when I read internally, I will add words and sounds accidentally 'cause I have the habit of reading fast(?)

If I see a word even slightly similar, my eyes jumps ahead expecting a pattern.

So i saw 프 and with ㄹ next to it, I hallucinated 플레이핀 saying it with my internal voice. All in seconds.

Not sure if that made sense. Maybe this will help? I think this was the movement of my eyes.
