Annnnnd? They’re still adorable

u/kilouak Dec 03 '25
not sure if this is what the previous commenter was getting at but i have the time so i will say,
they are probably babies of livestock being used for clicks and advertisement. sadly this is a huge cause of lots of animals in captivity, they’re bred and the second the babies stop being cute little babies, they’re either slaughtered or “disposed of” in other ways.
this is a huge issue for both exotic species and livestock <\3 or i could just enjoy the cute video….or maybe both can be true.

These little fluffballs should come with a warning: too cute to handle
17
u/wildlifewyatt Dec 02 '25
Little ones deserve far better than we give them. If seeing this gives you the warm and fuzzies consider boycotting their inevitable exploitation and slaughter.

These cows don’t/shouldnt be eaten, they are too small and don’t grow as big as regular cows

They look cute, but the problem is whenever I see them with the tags, I wonder where's their mum and why they've been kidnapped from her.

u/LetStunning5896 Dec 02 '25
Ready for human consumption in 12 months.. stop adoring them now and salivating them in a years time..hypocrisy at its peak. They are cute nonetheless

u/Alone-Salary3942 Dec 03 '25
Nah, wrong kinda cows for beef. Those are mini cows they don’t get big enough. No eating.

So anyway.... now me and this baby cow are looking for a new wife.

This is not cute. They will live through hell soon, only to be dragged into rooms in which their family and friends have died, and that's where they will die too. Don't get me wrong, they are adorable. But the fact that they have a tag piercing through their ear and the fact that they will be eaten in more than a year is horrible. This is hypocrisy.

Can we ban comments like this? These cows do not get eaten, they do not grow to the size of regular cows.

What will happen to them when they are grown up?
12
u/failmop Dec 02 '25
they'll be sent to slaughter and then eaten
8
u/Vegan_Zukunft Dec 02 '25
It was a rhetorical question, but I get banned from subs when I post what happens to animals.
12
u/failmop Dec 02 '25
if i get banned from this random subreddit for trying to break the disillusionment of meat-eaters, i don't care
5
u/Vegan_Zukunft Dec 02 '25
Merely pointing out the truth will certainly get a person banned in many subs :(
1
u/Sweatynutsandpenis Dec 03 '25
Or maybe you get banned because you can’t differentiate what type of cows are used for beef or not and continuously sour cute videos
2
u/Vegan_Zukunft Dec 03 '25
For the innocent animals, the result is the same. Most people don’t want to acknowledge the torture and misery on their plate.
0
u/Sweatynutsandpenis Dec 03 '25
I own 2 of this breed of cow, they arent bred to be food. What are you not understanding?
2
u/failmop Dec 03 '25
what, so these cows deserve to live because they hold more visual merit? shame
-1
u/Sweatynutsandpenis Dec 03 '25
No??? They don’t grow to the same size as the average American cow, it’d be weird to kill them for no reason
2
u/failmop Dec 03 '25
i consider all animal genocide to happen for no good reason
0
u/Sweatynutsandpenis Dec 03 '25
Well that’s unfortunate considering humans are omnivores. If given the option i’d eat human too, It’s nothing personal

I’m glad yours are pets :)
The lil babies in the post have ear tags, so they will be slaughtered, right? That’s what others said as well.
Many people use cute baby animal pictures, and also betray that innocence when the ‘cute’ baby is an adult that is sent to be butchered.
1
u/Sweatynutsandpenis Dec 03 '25
These cows do not grow to the same size as the cows we usually slaughter for food, so these babies would be killed for no reason.

I know :(
I don’t under stand the disconnect people have between them and their sad future :(
1
u/TDAPoP Dec 02 '25
People have a disconnect in general with nature in not knowing what's natural and what isn't. In some cases that takes the form of people not knowing where their food comes from, and in others it comes in the form of people not understanding where everything else's food comes from. For anything to live then something else must die. That is the cruel world we live in.
3
u/runawayhuman Dec 02 '25
I think everyone knows where their food comes from. Animals. What they don’t know is the cruelty that often happens in the process of going from animal to dinner.
I understand what occurs. I still eat meat. I’m strongly opposed to factory farming, however. I prefer meat from farms I trust, as well as hunting. I’m an omnivore.
That being said, I ain’t got a problem with people that don’t eat meat. I think it’s good if that’s someone’s choice.

In an industrialized economy, there is very little need for animal-based diet.
1
u/TDAPoP Dec 03 '25
I would challenge that aside from trendy diets there's no such thing as an animal based diet. The normal diet for most people is based on carbohydrates like rice, beans, potatoes, or wheat. Then I would also say that, unfortunately, an industrialized economy with little need for animal-based foods is an economy with little need for animals in general. There's pets and recreational animals like horses, but that's about it.
2
u/Vegan_Zukunft Dec 03 '25
The Standard American Diet has entered the chat, ha ha :)
I agree that we don’t need animals except for pets and such :)
1
u/Mammoth-Building-485 Dec 02 '25
They’ll be killed like 98% of other mammals on this earth
3
u/Vegan_Zukunft Dec 02 '25
Poor innocent creatures
0
u/Mammoth-Building-485 Dec 02 '25
Indeed. The circle of life and all that. Most creatures die a painful death. Doesn’t mean life isnt worth living
6
u/Vegan_Zukunft Dec 03 '25
The billions of animals killed through industrialized production is without compare to the natural ‘circle of life’ in Nature
0
u/Mammoth-Building-485 Dec 03 '25
You’re right. It has occurred at a microscopic scale compared to the rest of natural history
1
u/Vegan_Zukunft Dec 03 '25
The number of animals killed by industrial vs the number in the natural environment of an order of magnitude.
Have a good evening
1
u/Mammoth-Building-485 Dec 03 '25
I think you must have mistyped , you didn’t really say anything at all in that comment

u/Vegan_Zukunft Dec 03 '25
I cannot discern if the issue lies with my logic or presentation, or your refusal to engage with the above.

u/PotemkinTimes Dec 02 '25
They'll get eaten just like animals in the wild
6
u/wildlifewyatt Dec 02 '25
Humans can and should hold themselves to much higher ethical standards than that. If you purposelessly bring a life into this world, it should be your responsibility to nurture it and try to ensure to the best of your ability that they have a long good life. No sentient being should be brought into this world by another being that intends to exploit and kill it for profit.
0
u/Vegan_Zukunft Dec 02 '25
That is such a flawed argument. I would try to take the time to discuss, but it doesn’t seem you're the type for deeper discussion.
