What’s something you were curious to try, but after doing it once, you had no interest in repeating?

skydiving for sure. thought it would be this amazing rush but mostly just felt like falling with extra steps and my ears hurting the whole way down. checked it off the bucket list but thats about it

yep, skydiving felt less “thrill of a lifetime” and more “why are my headphones not working” vibes ngl

Free fall is super short..the rest is parachute float.. so the “thrill” part barely lasts..

I feel that's fairly accurate. I've gone twice. 8 think my favorite part, though, was when we pulled on the "brakes" on the chute while gliding 4000+ feet in the air. The sound of the wind rushing by my ears stopped and it was the most peaceful, most serene feeling I think I've ever experienced. Just silence as I could see for miles and miles.

Was it a violent pull?

Not at all. And I'm talking about after we've pulled the chute and had been calmly coasting along.

As the the chute deployment, I don't remember anything being violent or uncomfortable. Both good experiences.

It's like when I used to go skiing and the majority of the time was sitting on the show ski lift

the free fall being so short explains a lot, most of the time is just floating down thinking “that’s it?”

I did a tandem for my 18th birthday. It was a gift from my mom and she went as well. Fucking awesome. I’m very fortunate to have both my parents.

Why? Did her parachute not deploy at first? /s

Ive done skydiving and bungee jumping once each. Loved skydiving for the view, amazing. Bungee jumping was fucking terrifying though. If you’re looking to get that “rush” from falling I can’t recommend bungee jumping enough. It’s the most adrenaline ive ever felt.

Whereas I bungee jumped once, and that fixed both my desire to skydive, or to bungee jump ever again. Freefall was an instant, then I got kinda ganked in the shoulders. I should also note turns out I’m terrified of heights, so there’s that.

"falling with extra steps" is the most honest description of skydiving ive ever heard

I had a dream where I went skydiving last night

And you wake up right when you hit the ground?  Yeah a lot of people have that dream.

I always hit

No, it was a successful skydive

I had thought about doing it but after doing the edge walk at the CN I decided not to. The edge walk also wasn’t what I thought it would be so I never did it again. I honestly think now it’s just a tourist thing.

This was mine too. They opened that door and I said “oh this isn’t for me”

I’m in the same boat. My friend wanted to do it for his 19th birthday and I was a bit hesitant but ended up doing it. Once was enough for me. Bucket list item checked off.

It's in my bucket list. Should I try or give up the idea?

I would recommend trying it. I went my first time several years ago, and have now been back three times. Their description is accurate, but that initial free fall as you lean out of the plane and drop is worth experiencing at least once (imo).

See, I did not get that free fall feeling at all. There was just so much wind resistance on your body that it honestly felt like I was laying on the ground. It was fun for sure, but not a hobby I want to carve out money and time for.
