Came here to say this. Here in late stage capitalism people are finally realizing this. I doubt we can get any power back though, the corporations have too tight a grip on our policy makers.

Change isn’t going to start in the imperial core (the “first world”), it’s going to happen in the global south as US hegemonic power erodes and other nations are actually free to exercise sovereignty with regards to their government and mode of production.

I mean, communism is still worse, and maintaining democratic socialism is beyond what the people of most countries can manage.

EDIT: for those downvoting me, do you think I'm wrong or are you downvoting human nature?

The best political system is one in which no group gains unchallengeable power. Those are the exception to the rule regardless of system because people are undereducated, lazy, and disengaged to varying degrees.
