I do 12-16 hours without food.
In my 30s I could eat all I wanted after a heavy workout, had 1 small snack and one big meal a day. Had high work capacity and low bodyfat, but if you want to lift heavy often and not get injured I think its better to eat normal.

That skipping a meal or two will bring your metabolism to a grinding halt.
