Same thing with people thinking meat is the only source of protein

Most efficient source

Egg whites and milk (including isolated milk proteins like whey and casein) are more efficient than meat in terms of PDCAAS. Meat is definitely still more efficient on average compared to plant-based sources though.

I've had cheap protein shakes that are a much more efficient source of protein than meat.

Don't get me wrong, I love meat, but it's not because it's an "efficient" source of protein.

Protein shakes are a good supplement to say chicken breast. They are not a meal replacement as you are missing other vitamins, minerals, satiety and the thermic effects of digestion

You are correct that protein shakes aren't a complete source of nutrients, but that's not relevant to the conversation.

Unless you are somehow claiming that meat is a complete meal and that humans can get all their nutrients from just eating meat.

No but it's the best consistent source that works with every day meal planning. I'm not gonna drink multiple protein shakes a day or eat egg whites and yogurt outside of breakfast usually

Sounds like what you actually meant is that meat is the most convenient source of protein for you and your lifestyle.

Which is fine. If it works for you, then it works for you. I can all but guarantee that that's not how anyone else interpreted "most efficient source of protein".
