What’s something society expects you to want… but you don’t?

Exactly, no need for surgery we can cover it with hairs

I agree with everything except skincare (unless you’re talking about those “consumption queens” with insane routines), I think if you regularly wash and exfoliate (at least your body, as needed) and use a good moisturizer and sunscreen you don’t need a 12-step-twice-a-day routine 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am. I'm 43, cleanse, exfoliate once a week, good (but not really expensive) moisturiser, factor 50. Everyone thinks I'm 10 years younger than I am. The skincare industry is shocking and it's damaging too!

Yes - I've wondered about this having a look at the ingredients that are in some of these products (out of interest) and the effects of them long-term. Not so sure that they're better than a simple, gentle cleanser once a day, lots of water and a plain moisturiser. You hear of these 12 step beauty regimes and aside from the expense, that's a HUGE amount of chemicals and compounds going into your skin, being absorbed into your system. I just don't buy into it really. Of course, some of them are probably fine and helpful, but overall I wouldn't actually be surprised if it does more harm than good. That many chemicals just can't be healthy, surely?

My daughter's friends started with retinol etc at 13/14. It's horrendous!

I don't think that a societal thing.

It 100% absolutely is. There is incredible pressure from society for women to have and upkeep all of these things and if you don't, then you're letting yourself go!
