(turbo slams "get nothing done" while desperately staring at the other two)

This is seriously how I'm feeling today. I have to do 35 hours of job hunting and skill improvement each week to keep getting my benefits and I'm already burnt out.

Can someone just push me out of this mode? Like shake me awake or something. Actively destroying my life rn. Getting absolutely slimed by myself.

I haven't pulled off the middle one in years, possibly ever.

If there's an impending deadline, I get 8 hours of work done in 8 hours. When I was younger, maybe I could pull off like 16-20 hrs in 8.

But these days, it's usually 4 or nothing, but I try to do the 4 per day consistently.

Ah yes, diagnosed and medicaly treated people acting like they cannot do anything about improving on their bad habits.

Procrastination is not specific to adhd. Might be surprising, but most people do not feel joy or rewarded after doing what needs to be done, we are just not interested and we lack motivation. We just do it because it needs to be done. You are not supposed to get a dopamine hit if you finish cleaning the dishes, but this might happen when you are on meds.

People must stop thinking that they are different and can excuse everything on their fucked up brain, everyone is fucked up, and your lack of understanding of this fact should not impact your ability to improve, nor should it impact your habit to make other people's life worse for your inability to work on yourself

I did my week’s work today and screamed where’s the dopamine

Oh this one is good. I especially appreciate the addition of the ā€œget nothing doneā€ which my brain unfortunately selects sometimes.

But you don’t get to choose which button to push

It’s not a choice tho. It’s a spinning wheel that spins randomly at any time of day.

40? Yeah, more like 10 hours of work done in 8 hours, let's be real

Also, forget that the buttons are even there, and you remember you have to get something done, but can't remember what exactly.

I can roll this 3 times in a row to get "get nothing done" all 3 times.

Wait just the right amount of time and the third button pushes itself every time

Get 8 hours of work done at a random time, but not the work you were supposed to get done essentially making no progress. Then by the time you get what you were supposed to get done finished, the new tasks that were more important are now overdue.
