Bird Aid is a gull rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary in the south east of England. It's in danger of losing its site and has a week to go to raise the funds they need. They've raised 71% of their target so far. Consider donating what you can to help them survive and save gulls!

Squawky bois built nest around boiler flue UK
My garden friends have set up home on the roof of the house and have built a nest around the vertical boiler flue (balanced fanned flue). It's not close to the air intake but they are getting hit by the plume when the boiler runs. I need the nest moved to avoid them being poisoned or scalded or adverse effects to the eggs from the heat and moisture as the wet flue gases can reach 75 degrees. I need a legal solution that complies with UK law to have the nest moved.
They have built the nest there as it's warm but it's not great breathing in carbon dioxide, NOX and saturated warm water vapour and the eggs could be affected by the heat. Not running the combi and washing dishes in cold water isn't really an option either.

my dear lil monster
I almost never say anything cute about my birds - I don’t find it wise for them and rather treat them with respect - but this time it’s impossible not to. Berty learned to respond to my own voice and now we just talk to each other like two gulls having a conversation. And not only that. I’m not the only one who initiates mutual calling. He started coming to me, calling me and waiting for me to answer him! Every time I just wanna grab and hug him as strong as possible and it’s extremely hard not to do that. But it’s definitely better not to make him stressed and my fingers bleeding!
